Women say breasts are not sexual, but freak when a girl tans topless?

please read all before just responding. I notice that so many women with children say that breasts are not sexual and they are meant to feed babies, that is what they are put there for. I couldn't agree more, breasts ARE there to feed babies. I'm not disagreeing on that at all. Women all over the US are fighting for their right to breastfeed in public, I have no problem with that. you don't even need to cover up if you are in front of me, they are just BOOBS (not like it's your vagina). Well these women constantly say that the breasts are not sexual at ALL, OK. well why do their minds suddenly change then (at least many of them) when it comes to a young women with perky breasts, tanning topless at the beach? with ZERO sexual intention at all? no one touching her, not acting sexual in any way whatsoever. people may say oh well the difference is that when a woman is breastfeeding no guys will get turned on by it, but they will if a woman is tanning topless. that isn't true. there are MANY weirdos out there who get turned on by seeing a mother breastfeed as sick as it sounds. they think "BOOBS" and stare. believe me, it happens. I even searched online to see if men found it sexual and many men claimed it was hot because well...they see breasts. I was out with my friend before when her son was a baby and she breast fed, and she actually had some guys APPROACH us and tell her "nice t*ts" that is disgusting. when I go to the beach I love to lay with my top off, but most beaches won't allow it because people complain. I have had a woman complain once a woman who WAS BREASTFEEDING on the same beach, she told the lifeguard I was topless and was offended. I don't understand, how can I offend her when her breasts were also out? I was not rubbing them, having anyone touch them, I just laid there watching star wars on my ipod, not bothering anyone. I also am a mother, I'm not a slutty little kid. I am a mature woman with a child, I just don't think breasts are there just for men to be turned on, breasts are beautiful and not just for men as I said...i don't understand. please lend me your opinions on the matter. let me say this is NOT a "should women be allowed to breastfeed in public" post. thanks.

  • You may very well be the first woman to say "breastfeeding is not sexual" that I actually believed because of the very reasons you stated. It's been my believe that breastfeeding is sexual because women normally speak in this contradiction that makes me think otherwise.

When a boyfriend or husband sucks on the breast it's considered sexual but when a baby does the exact same thing these same women argue that there's nothing sexual sexual about it because "the baby doesn't know it's sexual". I've always felt that by that reasoning a baby sucking on a penis must not be sexual either because "the baby doesn't know it's sexual" of course the adult knows better and that's why I generally feel like women are lying when they claim it's not sexual.

I feel like if it really wasn't sexual then women would treat their breasts as if they are never sexual not just when breastfeeding. In your case you have done that which is why I'm more inclined to believe you when you say it isn't sexual. Of course you did make a mention about touching which I have to question.

Generally a man's chest is not seen as sexual or private. Men can go topless in public and women can touch a man's chest without anyone complaining. So why should that be any different when it's the other way around? I kinda feel that both men and women should cover up because as children we don't look any different anyway so why should girls cover up and not be touched there but it's OK for boys when they're both the same? I personally don't go topless in public.

Women seem to be attracted to topless men in the same way that men are attracted to topless women. It doesn't seem to make a difference that men aren't required to cover up and it's easy for a woman to see a man topless. I'd actually argue that a man's chest is more sexual than a woman's because men don't feed babies so it seems to be just for a woman's pleasure.

I also feel that it's sexual and private because we cover parts of out bodies that are different between genders like the penis and the vagina. However as mentioned before in children there isn't a difference in the chest.

All that being said I just think the chest should be seen as always sexual regardless of gender or age or never sexual regardless of gender or age. I don't really care which as long as you pick one. None of this it's sexual if this but not sexual if that. No more confusing double standards for the chest, it is or it isn't pick one! You seem to have picked it isn't and I respect that. For me it is, that's why I never take my shirt off in public even though I'm a man and I don't like women touching my chest when I can't touch their breasts. That just isn't fair.

If things ever change when women's breasts are no longer covered and there's no taboo about touching them then I'll take my shirt off like all the other men already do. Until then I'm going to cover up because I think my chest is just as private and sexual as a woman's breasts.

    • Breastfeeding a baby isn't sexual. It's like how it's sexual for a man and woman to kiss, but not for a man or woman to kiss their child. It's about purpose and context

  • Breasts are a turn on... Less when a baby's feeding on them, but they still are. It's in the nature of men to get aroused by breasts. They're made in a way to be attracted to boobs. Of course, courtesy and manners and social pressure has made it so men don't pay attention to breastfeeding women but they're still attracted to breasts. So, I can't see your point in complaining why men like to see breasts.

Of course you can't understand that, because you have breasts and don't know how it is being turned on by them. It's the same thing with men where they can't completely understand how women feel towards them.

Also, there's a difference between a bare breast and a breast with a baby feeding on it. When the baby is feeding, his/her head covers up the main part of the breast (except for short periods of time when adjustments are being made), and the part of the breast showing will be similar to what can be seen in bikinis and ...

And just because something is beautiful doesn't mean it's OK to show it. Unfortunately, we're not aware (or we choose to turn a blind eye) what sexual tension does to children. Were there children at the beach you were laying topless?

And also, at the rate things are going, in a few years, people are going to argue that walking out nude in the streets is OK as well. The human body and the privates are beautiful and ...

  • In certain parts of europe, as far as I know, it's legal to breast feed in public. Only in our "christinized", non-sexual, feminized American civilization is breast feeding in public prohibited. This is one feminist have being battling for a long time, while others protest (as they don't want men free access to stare at beautiful breasts in case the mother is sensuously formed), so this one goes back and forth, depending where you are in the world.

  • We shouldn't be expected to cover ourselves just because guys think it's sexual.

That being said, there's always going to be someone who complains because they're uncomfortable with the human body or they're insecure about themselves. So, those of us who are more open with our bodies have to use tact to prevent "getting in trouble" by not "showing off," even if it's more comfortable.

It's ridiculous but it's just the way things are.

    • The way things are in America, anyway. Let's all move to Europe.

    • agreed 100%

    • nooo we don't want americans! ha ha jk

  • Yes I have heard in the USA that topless is not encouraged. What state are you from? I am from Europe (Sweden) but go on holidays to the continental Europe and topless is probably 50% or more on some beaches. I have even been to nude beaches in Europe where people are nude but they aren't having sex or doing sexual things. I think it is just a different attitude from the USA.

  • I don't know any woman who has that view.

  • First off, your profile sats 18-24 years ld so mature you ar not unless you lied about that age.

brestfeeding public is alowed where I live and the woment claiming beeing offended is not offended herself but offended on others behalf. everyone is like that, they don't get offended themself but they are certain others are offended so then they are offended because you offfends others...

And if you are sunbathing topless on your back its my duty to look, I won't get an erection of it but I do enjoy what I'm seeing. as for brestfeeding then I won't even look as its not anything I would do. I don't know why but once she is brestfeeding its not fun looking.

    • i'm 27, and having a child has really made me become very mature. well that's weird I don't understand why tohers just don't complain then. the human body is beautiful. I don't understand why people don't get it. no one seemed offended but her. also why would my breasts offend people? they are beautiful. I have breastfed my daughter in public before and men oogled and well I thought nothing of it. no matter what people are going to look...baby with you or not.

  • I agree with your post 100%.
Who should the women who want breastfeeding normaized be pissed at?
The girls who ashamedly cover up their nipples when bare. The girls who flash their breasts to guys. The hypocritical morons who hike them all up in push-up bras and/or cleavage tops but don't dare go braless for fear of a (gasp!) pokie nipple.

  • I personally think that both topless suntanning and public breast feeding should be legal. I actually think that if guys are allowed to walk down the street with no shirt on for whatever reason, so should women.

  • If a woman thinks breasts aren’t sexual they should be topless on the beach, but there not

  • breasts are a sign that girls are right for the pick lol... and it give a girl some curves.. thats why i get turned.

  • Is that a problem in your country, topless in beaches? lol where do you live? Iran?

    • its against the law in the united states

    • you can't get topless in BEACHES?

    • nope, they have to be a "nude beach" and there aren't many ones around.

  • Wow. I didn't know women have breasts.

  • Breasts are sexual.. there is no doubt about it

  • The bottom line is this: if the breasts are attractive, they are GOING to turn on guys regardless of what you're doing with them. That being the case, women with less attractive breasts than the ones on display are going to be intimidated/threatened and act "offended" to neutralize the perceived threat of a sexually more desirable woman.

Because, before breasts can be used to feed babies, they're used to attract guys into helping produce them. . .

  • Why are guys who get turned on by breastfeeding freaks? :( I would never ogle a woman who was breastfeeding her baby cause that would be rude and disrespectful but they though of sucking a womans boobs really turns me on. Why is that wierd?

    • its weird if a woman is feeding her child and a guy is turned on. that's what I think...

    • feeding her child no. But they thought of me trading places with the baby is. lol you ever seen me myself and irene with jim carey?

    • lol YES! ahahaha. and there's nothing wrong with wanting to suck milk out of your girlfriend or wife's breasts, my boyfriend did it to me so many times.

  • Breastfeeding is legal in the U.S, so I'm not sure why they're still fighting for it. They can breastfeed wherever babies are allowed. Some people might have a problem with it, but its legal. Look that up if you must.

Being topless on a public beach is not, however. You should take it up with lawmakers rather than complaining about people alerting authorities about you.

    • *is for asking for others' opinions. sorry, computer froze while I was typing and it didn't get everything I typed in.
