I'm 5'6 and I've never had anyone say I'm too short. I have a friend who's 5'4 and he's never had anyone say he's short, and he's a TRY HARD like F***, he'd try it on with like twice as many girls as you and I would ever meet, and he's short as sh*t, and he's never heard the rap that girls here would give. And we've both had very successful love lives to prove it...

I know guys shorter with the same story. Honestly, I think its a silly thing American girls have developed. The fact that people have a minimum height is just... So stupid.

  I also think something people say on here would never stand up in person. Usually as long as you're taller than a girl that's good enough.

  Yeah, I think that too. I often say 'People care less about [subject matter] than they do when you ask them about it'. So the Minimum Height opinion probably didn't actually formulate until this question was asked, and probably won't surface again until there's another question like this. Btw, when I say 'stupid', and 'daft' below, I realize its not a conscious choice. But like, its stupid in that they're wired that way. I don't get it

  I just don't understand why the gap is so much. My preference is 5'6" and shorter and I'm 5'8" but requiring a half a foot taller is a big difference.

  Yeah, I know. I PM'd Evangelina with my idea of what's going on actually, LOL, it was this; I reckon in America, they're trying a subtle under-the-radar Social Darwinism to try and breed a Tall, Athletic, Healthy, Mentally Sound race of people, by affecting peoples preferences by environmental means.

  I agree with most of your points. BUT, in SOME girls' defense, some girls are really really tall (>5'10) and might be very self conscious about their height and the guys they date. That's why they may prefer tall guys, but that doesn't mean that they will impose a minimum height as who they'll get attracted to. Just stating a possibility that can be taken into account. But by no means this justifies why girls should have a minimum height as to who they'll get attracted to.

  Yeah, I get that. But still, I mean I can only partly understand the preferring taller guys anyway, not to mention it factoring so much. Like, actually... A friend of mine was once telling me why I was more attractive than this other guy (long story as to why, hehe) and one of her points was that I was taller than him. And I actually laughed at her, hahaha, I couldn't understand that. Still, if its the way they're wired its the way they're wired, but its just oddddd

You can't put a blanket statement like that. 'minimum height?' yes it's true that most will find tall guys attractive, but it's in the same way that they find nice legs attractive. If it's a strength of yours, they're going to love it about you, if it's not, they'll find something else. It's not an all or nothing requirement like being a good person, being able to make them laugh and so forth. Most 6' 1" guys aren't huge, they're slimmer, so just like that they have an insecurity, don't make such a big deal outta height. Stop looking for 'oh it's ok' and flex the aspect of you that girls will find attractive.

I'll make your day better by saying that I honestly don't have a minimum height for a guy to be attracted to. Maybe one day I'll realize a certain limit as to what height I'm attracted to, but for the moment not at all because I've been attracted to guys between 5'3 to >6ft, lol.

  This question is gonna make some guys insecure. Where do you live in? I know American girls have high expectations on height, but that's just a portion of girls and that doesn't mean that there's absolutely no chance of you getting a girl anyway :)

  I know some short guys who have girlfriends. For instance, guy K, he's 5'3, his girlfriend is also 5'3 and they've been going out for 3 1/2 years now. They are such a cute couple, but I thought she could do better.

  @QA: I'll tell you one trick. Try playing around with the proportion of your body to LOOK taller than you are. I'm not sure how, but because of the proportion of my body, I often look taller than my actual height so it's possible. It's about visually effect anyway ;) If you are still at a growing age, exercise and eat a lot more if you really wanna grow tall :)

  @QA: If it really bothers you, just try playing around with the proportion of your body to look taller as I've mentioned. If it really makes you feel any better, many girls who responded here are young. They may still change their mind, who knows? :) Also, think about girls being really tall and guys imposing a "maximum height". That doesn't stop them from being attractive and them getting boyfriends.

  Let's not go towards that direction of discussion, cause there are bound to have disagreements, such as girls coming up with counter arguments that guys judge their looks as well whilst guys coming up with arguments to be in guys' favour and it all gets messy. Bottom line is, 5'7 is average men height globally. You aren't tall, but you aren't shortest. Everyone has their own problems with their looks, but by the end of the day, is height really all that matters? If people are that shallow as

I never noticed that I like tall guys but I see that I do. I Like them around 5'10-6'1 something like that. Its not the most important thing to be that tall because I'm not very tall but I am definitely more attracted to tall guys. Short guys tend to look odd.

  Why are so many men being such hypocrites? You all have physical preferences too. I'm sure you have a maximum weight cut off for potential gfs, I'm sure many of you only like shorter girls, and I know a lot of guys who are picky about hair color, piercing, tattoos, boobs, butt, etc. We girls are allowed preferences and choices too.   Except most of those factors you mentioned are "changeable". A girl whose overweight or obese may have significantly more complications with her health in the long run, being fat isn't healthy nor suppose to be accepted as a societal norm.

  a girl can be heavier and be healthy and some guys may not be atrtacted to her. she may have a naturally curvier shape, a larger frame, etc. lets not be dumb you know what I meant. there are a lot of shapes and sizes out there before you actually reach being technically obese. and "fat" is usually subjective. its the exact same thing as height imo. if a girl has a curvy frame and a guy likes tiny petite chicks, he usually goes with what he likes. and that's fine. so is liking tall guys

  I still don't see the correlation? It's comparing apples to oranges. Ones a non changeable factor (height) the other is changeable (weight). This question was asking about the "minimum height" a girl would consider, not about a girls preference.

  you still don't get it. lol 1. weight isn't easily changed. 2. if a girl is naturally larger she is never going to be "tiny and petite" unless she starves herself. I'm not tiny and petite and I never could be that way unless I starved myself. I'm heavier, naturally curvy, and I run every single day, I have a generally healthy diet, no complaints from my doctor ever. one of my best friends is tiny and she actually has trouble gaining weight because of her thyroid or something. ill never look like her

  and she will never look exactly like me. she has tiny t*ts, I have big ones, my hips are huge and hers are like a twelve year old boys, etc. our body shapes are designed differently. its not that complicated to understand, really. lol anyway we attract different guys generally. one of my friends actually used to date her and he only likes girls like her that are petite and very thin. that's his preference. mine is tall guys. lol
