  • it is possible but only if he knew he had it and intentionally gave it to you and either said that he didn't have one or that he didn't say anything at all. there's a case that happened in Jamestown NY where a guy went around back in the 90's I believe giving everyone he had sex with aids and now he was just prosecuted and put to jail for I think 20 years and there are still more cases pending. the hard part of trying to do this is that you need proof that this guy intentionally gave you an std without telling you. and then you also have to prove that you were tried to be safe about having sex. it's really hard to determine figuring I don't know the whole story.

  • You could but you won't win. But you know, that's what condoms are for. You should have made him get checked...

  • You can sue someone for any reason.

If you can prove he knew he had an STD, then you can claim intentional infection.

He will claim he did not know he had one. The burden on proof is you.

You will have to file suit and request all medical records "in discovery".

If you are in America his social security number will reveal treatments.

If you cannot find treatments, you have no case.

If it is HIV, genital warts or herpes, it is forever.

    Perhaps morals sprung from consequences.

    • do you know what type of lawyer to contact . and how much money will it cost

    • You might want to try a personal injury lawyer. Go to a woman. She will ask for $3,000 up front and you may pay more in the end. If he does not have attachable assets, you will waste your time even if you get a judgment.

  • In the UK a girl sued a guy for GBH (grievous bodily harm), he had no intention to give it to her but he knew about it and was reckless because he could have realized that something like this would have occured, She won

In UK maximum for that is 5 or 10 years I think

Learned about in law class, don't know if it helps or not

  • you can try but an extemely difficult case to prove, especially if he did not know and even if he did know hell deny it. that's why you should have protective sex.

  • If you have a good solicitor, yeah. If you took precautions your probably much better suing either the company who made your birth control, or suing the advertising campaign that encourages safe sex by putting on a condom

  • You'd be trying to prove he intentionally gave you one. If he didn't know, or he took precautions, good luck.

  • All the person has to say is he didn't know or that it was consensual. that was 1/2 your decision and you chose to have unprotected sex. How can any smart person have unprotected sex in todays world?

STD rates are through the roof in record numbers. Irresponsible people now wanting the courts to protect them from their stupid decisions.

Sleeping around may be fun for some, but their is consequences for being sleazy.

  • Yes. But you may not win if the sex was consentual. It also depends on whether they knew they had an STD and whether they intentionally withheld that info from you. I think most juries/courts would say that STDs are a part of casual sex and you must accept the risks if you wish to play. Every situation is different though but if you've been wronged you should seek recourse.

  • lol I doubt it. but great idea

  • Did he know he had an std before having sex with you and can you prove it? If so, you'll have a case.

    • im not sure if he knew it or not but , it was somthing odd about the way he was having sex ... what type of lawyer do I contact for stuff like this ?
