What is it with girls making their boyfriends buy tampons/pads for them?

its become common that girls nowadays make their boyfriend go out and buy tampons for them, and I don't get what the point is and what kind of satisfaction they get from it? they play it out perfectly to create circumstances so the guy has to urgently go and buy her some, while they complain about having cramps...its so weird!

  • well my boyfriend works in target so its on the way for him.

i usually have my own pads, but sometimes it creeps up on you and you don't have pads with you. bfs at work and its just awkward to ask his parents to drive me to the store LOL so its not really for any kind of satisfaction...

but I guess I understand in a way. its like me MAKING my boyfriend buy panties for me or go in to the store with me, knowing he feels uncomfortable.i want to feel like he'd be able to get over that shyness for me. that he'd do it for me! he will have to eventually...

  • I've only asked my boyfriend to buy me feminine products once in the 5 years we've been together. I didn't "create circumstances" to make him have to buy them for me. I was getting ready to go into work for a night shift and realized that I only had enough to get me through the night and would need more for the next day. I didn't have time to go myself, so I asked him if he minded picking some up for me, and he said he didn't mind.

  • I never did that but if he's going to the store anyways, I don't see a problem with him bringing some tampons home too

  • If we've been together so long that we buy groceries for the household together, then making her run to the supermarket would be wasting a trip. If she were doing the groceries and we were low on condoms, I would expect her to pick some up, rather than send me to the store for them.

  • my girlfriend lies about being a virgin. she uses jumbo sized tampons. she claims to have a heavy flow and a wide set vagina

  • You can't make him buy the tampoon but you can ask him to. No one can make anyone to do anything they don't want to.

  • I'm pretty sure girls don't purposely plot to get a guy to go to the store to buy them tampons.

I doubt they get any kind of satisfaction from it.

Maybe they're just open enough with their guy to not feel embarrassed about asking, and actually do have cramps which make it preferable for him to run to the store, rather than her.

Why is it a bit deal? I've asked my dad to buy me tampons, guys, friends - and a definitely don't plan it or seek any satisfaction from it.

  • well maybe the chick actually does have cramps and doesn't feel like running to the store.

    • but you're supposed to have a stash saved up and be prepared being a girl, the girls I'm referring to, do it on purpose

    • lol I don't have a stash of tampons, I usually have three or four tampons left when I get my next period and therefore I will need to buy another box when I get my period

  • I actually feel better about buying tampons than I ever did buying rubbers!

  • not all girls make their boyfriend buy them things a guy can say no if they want to but when your having bad cramps and you don't feel like getting up, its not gonna hurt the guy or something, girls do things for guys anyway so it shouldn't be a big deal if he bought her some

  • Make? A silly thing to do. Wife (and even daughter) asking because I'm going to the store? Common. Asking about heavy/light, super, wings, etc., awkward. I try to do it like a doctor.
