I haven't had my period in 7 weeks! What is wrong with me?

I am getting a little worried because it's been 7 weeks and I usually get my period every month on time. I am not sexually active so that can't be the cause and I'm not super skinny so it can't be that either. I don't think it's stress because I haven't been too stressed out, and when I used to be very stressed out I still got my period on time. Any ideas what's wrong with me? Thanks!

  • Hm, you have thought of everything I was about to write.. once, my friend had unprotected sex (or the protection broke.. whatever) and she was worried that she wouldn't get her period, and she didn't. after not getting it for a couple of weeks she went to a clinic to check if she was pregnant. But she wasn't, it turned out that the small stress she was having about not getting her period made her actually not get her period. when she was sure everything was OK she relaxed (without feeling the difference herself, she didn't think she was stressed) and she got it right away. Maybe you have some underlying thing that worries you without you really thinking about it?

Anyway, I would go to the clinic to be sure if I were you. I hope everything turns out okey :)

  • Hmm. That is very strange since it usually comes on time. For years my period was always irregular. It would go 3 months without coming and then 6 months without coming. I FINALLY got it on track when I started using birth control and now its always on time. I'm not sure what was originally wrong with my hormones, but maybe you're hormones are suddenly in a tizzy for some reason?

  • hormones. maybe there's some underlying problems with your adrenal system. just go to the doctor and tell them what's going on and they'll look to see if it's something more serious or just the way your body decided to act in which they will probably put you on birth control to stablize your period to make it regular again.

  • I can't see you today, I'll give you another appointment to check you out...or I'll send you to DR.TonyMetal25, maybe his housewife ideas will return your period back on track:D

    just kidding!

Since all you mentioned aren't happening with you, then I doubt that it might be something with the hormones, maybe your thyroid ain't working very well, go make a TSH t3 t4 blood test so we see the results...if your thyroid is working well, then you need a gynecologist to check you up...never leave it like that!

take care and I wish you the best!

  • Maybe you should go to a clinic and get it checked out.. You just ruled out everything I was going to mention. Stress, pregnancy, I'm out of ideas. If you're worried, and I would be too after 7 weeks, go get it checked out to make sure it isn't something serious. Good luck, I hope everything's okay!

    • She is right. You better get it checked out.

  • just go see a doctor to make sure everything is alright.

  • Hello, I cannot exactlly tell you what is wrong with you but I can say this happened to my sister and she had to go to the docter she had some desise its really rare and that is normally not it. BUT, I deffinetlly would say go to the doctor, and just ask them what is wrong. Sometimes it is just irregualar but being as you said you are not sexually active than you are not pregnate ( thumbs up for the obviouse, right)
