At what age do guys generally lose their ability to get it up?

What age can men still have an erection and do sexual things without the use of Viagra or something similar? What age would one typically start to need it?

  • Depends; there are very many factors involved in a man's ability to maintain an erection: blood pressure, stress, sleep, performance anxiety, the partner bond, smoking, recreational drug use, drinking, frequency of sex, prostate health, testosterone levels, etc., etc., etc.

Generally, if a guy takes care of himself, he can go strong well into his seventies. (Dirty little secret: A LOT of action occurs in nursing homes. For real.) If he lets himself go, he could be struggling by twenty-five.

  • Erectile dysfucntion is most often caused by psychological factors, not physical. It can happen at pretty much any age (except for maybe teens).

  • Recently I did a very fit guy I met and was very surprised to find out he was 64. Did not look one minute over mid 40's and I can tell you he had no problem getting it up twice in a period of two hours. I had been with him for several hours before f*cking him and I know he never swallowed one of those men's majic pills to make things rise to the occasion! LOL If he were to come back and visit this area again I would have no reservations about lettling him hump me again.

  • It really varies for a lot of reasons, but typically it seems to be men in their mid-40s. My dad is mid-40s and I know he takes viagra on occasion. Him and his girlfriend joke about it, lol. But then there are plenty of men 60+ who have no problem getting or keeping an erection. It just depends.

  • usually starting at 40 and up from there. 20 more years and I'm gong lesbian or to much younger guys between 20-22 :)

  • Some guys in their 20's have ED

    Some in their 30's

Some in their 40's and so on

It depends on a lot of interlinked factors like stress, health, diet, life style, etc

  • dating an older man?

  • 70 I would think

  • It's obvious in their mid-40s. Some start in their late 30s -- often stress-related.

    • Obviously you must be young and reading a lot of sh*tty articles in magazines

    • Nice attitude. You're wrong on both counts. (1) Viagra happens to be marketing to a younger generation at this time. (2) Erectile dysfunction is a common side effect when a guy is overly stressed in some aspect of his life.

    • Yeah, you said "obvious in their mid-40's" Thats where you went wrong

  • I don't think that happens to all guys. Are you worried for the future?

    • Yes kind of also I liked this older guy not that anything would def happen but if he can't get it up on his own that would definitely repel me somewhat since I'm young

    • I've heard of guys in their 50's and 60's still being capable. It can depend on the guys lifestyle, stress etc etc

    • If a man who is say 50 is still trying to sleep around and seems sexual and "young" and all and still dates and looks at women a lot, you think he can probably still get it up?
