  • Well everyone men and woman both have sexual urges. When they are in a relationship, they are not allowed to have sex with anyone else but the person they share the relationship with. If they don't have these urges satisfied they will turn to someone else to satisfy them.

Also, sex is a act that brings two peole closer to each other. More then just a friendship. The act itself can also be exciting and you can do so many different things to spice it up.

    Hope I helped :)

  • Biologically it's literally something that encourages reproductive activity and creates a bond that aids in rearing children. That's actually all there is to it really. The rest is just sweet perks.

  • Oh my. Sex is vital to a relationship. Even if I don't climax, I still enjoy every second. Because I am deeply madly in love with the person I am with. Because it makes me feel very close to him not only on a physical level but also on an emotional one. Its expressing my feelings for him in a physical way. It brings us closer to each other. There is nothing like having sex with the person you love. One of the best things in life in my opinion.

  • Physical intimacy

Emotional intimacy with words, physical intimacy with actions

However, sex is probably best when accompanied with a mutual feeling of trust, respect and love for one another.

    • True...

  • because people tend to get horny, and it's always nice to have someone there who is sexually compatibly to partake in those moments of hornyness.

    • Yeah but there's plenty of people who would be more than happy to have a one night stand

    • right, but those people are usually just looking for a quick f***.. there not necessarily looking for sexual compatibility, or at least they don't put much thought into it. Sex with a stranger is different than sex with someone you care about.

  • In a successful relationship your partner has to be happy. A great relationship works on both good communication and a healthy sex life. Sex also relieves stress and can have a good impact on your health, so why wouldn't it be important?

    • @relieves stress and can have a good impact on your health, so why wouldn't it be important? So do carrots.. does everyone eat carrots in a relationship?

    • Very bad comparison. Also sex being good for your health is a proven fact. If I were you instead of rating someone down I'd read up on my information first.

    • This is a good answer. It IS a fact that both partners have to be happy, both with themselves and within the relationship. Sex IS apart of any healthy relationship, as are mutual trust, respect, love, acceptance and communication. Sex is an aspect of a relationship which when left unfulfilled, the lack of satisfaction can basically leak into other aspects of the relationship.

  • human nature. and social norms. kind of got the nature vs. nurture debate going on here. not sure how much of it is how society has taught us to think of sex, and how much is the fact that humans are designed to have sex.

    • i'm curious to hear the argument of whoever down voted me. also, no one is considering asexuality.

    • +1

  • I see sex more as a need than a want. We as humans need sex. So for a couple to satisfy each others need/s, it creates a closer and stronger bonding to one another which leads to a healthy relationship.

    • Why do we 'need' it?

    • I know I NEED sex.

    • you need sex, as do lots of people, but not everyone does. don't speak for the human population.

  • It's really not all that important. Anyone who says it is is just saying that because they can't control their genitles and they want to get orgasms. I've seen relationships with lots of sex fail miserably.
