I was a HUGE prude in high school so I tried not to as much as I could but it didn't work too well. It certainly wasn't the only thing in my head but I did think of it quite a bit. I mostly looked at girls' faces because that's what caught my eye most. I went to Catholic school and we had to wear uniforms so you couldn't really see much ass or boobs, even though the girls would hem their skirts shorter than they were supposed to. I wouldn't say I was desperate. Even if a girl offered to have sex with me I probably wouldn't have done it because I was really religious and also because I would probably have been too nervous about it. I thought about it at all kinds of times, even if I was alone, not just when I saw a really cute girl (although that did often happen too).
I had a lot going on and definitely didn't think of it every second of the day, but no doubt, I thought about it a lot, even though I was fortunate enough to be getting it (starting in 10th grade). And before I was getting it, it was worse, for sure.
Yes, I noticed girls bodies (faces, boobs, asses), and not just the "super-hot" girls. I was in the band, and we often changed clothes on school busses in Marching band, and many times girls were basicially stripped down to their underwear (especially getting out of a hot wool Marching band uniform after several hours in the hot sun), and it was impossible not to look and be at least a little aroused. At least by then, I had matured a bit and had started getting past the "nice guy/doormat" stage...
