Ever caught a guy online pretending to be a girl?

You know the old saying "There are no girls on the internet". Probably a bit of an exaggeration, but it definitely makes a point.I've come across quite a few guys pretending to be girls in my time online, but they're usually the really obvious ones. Their profile picture is of a very hot girl, usually lifted straight from a p*rn site but with the logo cut out, and they usually claim to be lesbians, adorning their profile with things such as "NO MEN ALLOWED! I HATE MEN!"Have you ever found out that a girl on the internet, whether on this site, Facebook, or any social networking site, was actually a guy in disguise?

I've found guys pretending to be girls and girls pretending to be guys. I can only think of one guy who did a good job of pretending to be a girl, and he did it because he had some sort of severe difficulty in trying to talk to girls as a guy. His solution was to adopt a female persona for chat rooms. I have no idea why he told me about it.

More often, strangely, I find girls pretending to be guys. There have been a few who were convincing, which surprises me. I think it would be easier to pretend to be a chick. As soon as their secret was out, they'd take off, excluding one who apparently was trans and beginning to live as a male.

Lol, do MMO's count? I knew a couple of GIRLs (Guys In Real Life) who would troll or sell 'services' in game. Seriously annoyed me, but what can you do? There was one 'girl' who I had suspicions about because she claimed to be some 'hot' lesbian chick, but wouldn't participate in anything that required Vent/Teamspeak/skype. She'd constantly ridicule our guys, while shamelessly flirting with the girls. One of our members found the pic she posted on a p*rn site. I didn't really pay attention to what the boys decided she was.

most definitely, but for me it was the other way around, and the girl was trying to holla. its crazy because I had already knew, like you said, it was a "very hot pict" of guy. lol

Oh, we've caught several on GAG. Usually where they logged in to the wrong sock puppet account and posted something about their penis, or their girlfriend.

This is usually followed by an update with "I'm using my friends account! Honest!" or some such sh*t.

They are all over this site. Every online game I've played and social network I've joined has had phony female profiles. That's the nature of the internet. Anonymity lets you paint your own self image and people exploit that.
