Katherine Heigls "I HATE BALLS" video...don't you think its offensive to guys?

I think its an awful thing and yet another example of how misandry gets a pass in our culture. Its suppsoed to promote nuetering...but Heigl pokes fun a sexual violence (castration)...Heres the video: link

and talks about how balls are ugly..Girls...can you imagine an add that talked about awareness for pets...but then went on to make you ashamed of upart of your sex organs...and the advocate that it be chopped off. And testicles? do realize everything that does for a guy? theyre not jsut fordecorating..a men essntialy will become feminized if he looses them.   • I appreciate your position and I understand your concern as you have taken this video seriously but respectfully: SERIOUSLY? Guy, this is a JOKE, it was made by Will Ferrel's production company - Funny or Die, Katharine is making fun of herself, ridiculous advocacy ads and stupid ambulance chaser commercials. They are not serious in the slightest. She nor most people support nuterring pets is not because the don't like testicles or because they like to torture anyone or anything it's because there are tons or great cats and dogs and other animals that already need homes, or are breed via incestually to use for cage fights or to do bodily harm to other people to protect their property or to scare or harm other people. Oh my goodness, they were just pointing out the ridiculousness of the fact that we have to do that, we have to nuter pets, no one wants to cut off men's testicles, all our lives would end, no more children, no more of anything. You are important to us and not just for your sperm. If people really hated men so much they would kill off men, what would cutting off your balls achieve? Try not to take everything so seriously, that man at the end of the video asking for his balls? that was her real life husband and they were making fun of and pointing out how awful really bad wives are to their husbands because it truly is as if women have their man's balls in a jar because they become insecure, manipulative and controlling without a good reason. Just like all other comedy it points out the bad things in hte world and turns it into jelly so we can see our own faults more easily and hopefully try to change them for the better. try to have a sense of humor

But just remember that they in your environment re not the norm and have their own issues, trust me, only immature, spiteful, resentful, angry and scared people are hateful and mean and wish bad things on others.     You either know your worth as a man, or you need to know your worth as a man.

    So what some anti - male femi nazi talks about her dislike to nuts?

    Doesn't mean all of a sudden every other woman is going to hate men and their balls lol. As your reading this some chick is sucking all over her dudes sack :P

    The reason aspects like this slide with men, is because we all know what men are naturally capable of.

    Men can easily over power and dominate women on physical strength alone if they wanted to - hell they did it for thousands of years.

    It's almost like the little mouse poking fun at the lion. The lion doesn't get it's feelings hurt because it knows it can swallow up that mouse at any moment - but the mouse feels more " big " " superior" if it thinks it's bad enough to speak bad about the lion.

    Is it right to poke at anyone? Not really.

    But people are a**holes male or female.

People keep trying to say oh this gender is just necessary for A, B and C - instead of realizing we both have our strengths and weaknesses as a COLLECTIVE. Just because I'm a woman doesn't make me any better than you - just because your a man doesn't make you any better. We're too busy playing " Men / women are better or not better because..." instead of realizing the true impact we have together.

  • I definitely don't support such flagrant campaigning against a normal and important part of any person's body. Calling testicles ugly and disgusting is a negative message that isn't healthy for boys to hear. And human castration is obviously a serious matter. But the video shouldn't be taken as the actual opinion of any group of people. Even Katherine Heigl herself may not in fact hate balls. Perhaps the ad is in bad taste or even unethical, but it doesn't represent general female views or beliefs. I do agree the ad is unacceptable, and it's not good for such ideas to be circulating through the media. But at the same time, it doesn't imply that the average woman is a misandrist, and I don't think misandry is overlooked any more often than misogyny is. After all, there is SO much misogynistic humor (including humor at the expense of female genitalia) that is disregarded because it is, well, humor. This goes both ways.

    • yea...i don't think the average woman is msiandrist (well I hope not..idk what you people really think or talk about when your not among guys...) but I was jsut saying that its insensitive and uncalled for...i agree with u. Also, I actually don't think I know of any vagina jokes...my friends probably just don't tell them...other than "fish" comments//but even the...no one has joked that vaginas should be mutilated.

    • People don't typically joke about mutilating female genitals, no... but some girls are insecure enough about their vaginas that they get plastic surgery to change their appearance. Unhealthy body image including negative feelings about genitals is rampant among women and it's supported by the media. The issues are not identical but both men and women deal with these things.

    • Every joke about kitchens and sandwiches, every reference to fish, sushi, roast beef, meat curtains... those are sexist jokes that a sensitive person could find extremely upsetting. "Blonde jokes" are sexist in a way as well, because I've NEVER seen one that featured a male blond. Even if people are less likely to tease directly about female genital mutilation, the emotional potential for injury is the same. Misandry sometimes gets a pass, but misogyny is still around too.

  • I agree that this video is totally disgusting. It could have been done a lot better. The following quotes are terrible.

    "I cannot cut of the nuts of men...Yet"

    The remark that she likes a penis," the little guy"

    And the last scene shows modern feminism at it's worst. That scene should have been of a female cat or dog, with the caption (Even though you do not have those disgusting hanging balls, we will still get you) or something similar stating that females also must get fixed.

    Another area where women are emasculating men is in college. I heard female law students, stating that "we now have all the men by the balls", as more women are graduating then men. It is videos like this and in the movies, that exploits the weakness of testicles as the weakness of men. It does not serve the female cause of equality, as it promotes sexism, not equal rights.

    Guys make sexist or "sex-part" jokes about women all the time, and we tell them "it's just a joke" and not to be so sensitive. And it IS just a joke.

    It's the same thing here. This is essentially a parody, talking something to the extreme to make fun of it. It's not intended to be taken at face value.

  • I'd like to point out that its a Funny or Die video. Its scripted to be funny (whether you or anyone else thinks it is or not is sort of irrelevant), and I really highly doubt she actually believes anything that extreme in reality. And balls are sort of weird-looking. Of course, that doesn't mean they should be chopped off. That's gross, painful, unnecessary, and cruel.

    • Yeah, well. Joking about "neutering" men isn't in good taste just like joking about rape isn't in good taste, but there are still people who think those sorts of things are funny, and you really can't do much about that, unfortunately. Although I do feel that in this case the humor is supposed to be found in the fact that the position IS so ridiculous and extreme. That doesn't mean its not still in bad taste, though.

  • She's not exactly known for her classiness and professionalism, so this doesn't surprise me but I think when you're a woman, and you constantly hear "fish" jokes and nasty comments about roast beef curtains, this pales in comparison and isn't really a shocker.

    I don't like her much though, so I couldn't even watch it. In fact, I find her to be terribly obnoxious. She talks too much sh*t is her problem
