How much more does a guy have to weigh than a girl to pick her up and carry her?

even tho I'm short and petite I for some reason think a guy would have to be somewhat built and tall to pick me up. Like this guy I like who's a few inches taller than me, not skinny, scrawny wouldn't be able to pick me up or carry me because I'd be to heavy. how much more does a guy have to weigh than a girl to pick her up and carry her?

  • lol, body weight doesn't matter. My fiancee it 10 lbs heavier than me and 3 inches shorter and I can picker her up. It's not EASY, but I don't have to seriously struggle to do it either. I'm not really seriously built either. I'm in decent shape, but not really muscular. It all really depends on how fit he is and HOW he picks you up. Like if you were to jump into his arms or he were to pick you up from an elevated position like a couch or the bed, that would be easier than if he tried to pick you up off the floor cause most of the work is in getting the person up to the height you're going to hold them at, i.e. the lifting part. Holding them there isn't that much of a problem. (lol, can you tell I was trained as an E.M.T.?)

  • Seeing as you are only 107 lbs. I think most average guys could carry you. As for your question about how much more he as to weigh than, that really depends on his build and athleticism. I am for instance 5'9 and during wrestling season I weigh at or under 125 lbs. (to wrestle in the 125 lb. weight class) and I can easily carry people over 250 lbs. So it comes down to your guys build and strength.

  • well since you don't weight that much at all I'd say that pretty much any guy who's at least a teenager could pick you up. I'm 5'2 and about 115 lbs. and a guy who's like 5'11 and says he's 115 lbs. and only 14 years old has recently picked me and carried me across a room so I don't think it's a problem for even super skinny guys like him.

  • I'm leaning more towards the opinion that his height/weight is completely irrelevant in this and that it is all dependent upon his muscle strength. I think that makes more sense.

    • Linds, you are partly right. But, A strong big guy is going to be able to lift more than a strong little guy. That is why they have weight classes in olympic weightlifting.

  • Why do you want/need him to carry you? Are you planning on jacking an ankle or something?

    • I think that almost anyone should be able to pick up a petite girl like yourself.

  • lol, I could pick you up!

    • What I was thinking. I am significantly bigger than her but I can :)

  • i weigh 155 and yesterday my cousin who's 3 inches shorter than me (boy 25 yrs.) picked me up and hugged me and he was fine.

    • Oh wow. Didn’t know very many people could even do that

  • Weight does not matter, a male which is physically fit, in a effort can pick up more than his weight.

Other than that, i can easily pick up 50-60 kg's while weighting 75 kg.

  • oh, hell, almost any guy can easily carry 107.

  • He doesn't have to be heavier than you. It just depends on what kind of shape he's in. If you're petite, I could carry you, and I'm only 5'9.

    • I agree with half of this, but you don't know how heavy she is so claiming you can carry her isn't the best thing to say, (no offense). It's all about how much muscle the guy has and how heavy the girl is.

    • Well, fat girls don't usually call themselves "petite".
