Guys and girls, how many sexual partners have you had?

Oral sex, anal sex and vaginal sex all count. Do not count 1st and 2nd base activity such as kissing or fondling. I am doing this study for two reasons. One - my girlfriend are fighting over how big of a player she thinks I am. The other reason is academic in nature. It would be helpful if you can list your age and the number of years that you have been sexually active.

I've asked this question before and so have many women. In general women will always have more sexual partners than men, which you can already see by the poll results. Generally its about the same, but women are a lot more likely to be an outlier (the 11-20 or 20+). It's simply easier for women to get sex so while the same number of men and women might want to have more sex, the women are more likely to succeed in actually doing so.

I've had 4 sexual partners, I am 23 and have only been sexually active since I was about 18-19. 2 were GF's, one was a girl I had been going out on dates with for about a month, and one was a friend who I drunkenly hooked up with.

I agree with most of your points. However, the conclusion that women have more sexual partners due to the ease at which they procure them might not be true. The Kinsey Institute published research showing that Males 30-44 report an average of 6-8 female sexual partners in their lifetime. Females 30-44 report an average of 4 male sexual partners in their lifetime (Mosher, Chandra, & Jones, 2005). Of course, things have changed a lot from 2005.

The ages on the study can scew the numbers. Times have changed, women now feel a lot more sexual freedom than they did 10,20, 30 years ago.

And I disagree with you...Women have felt a lot of sexual freedom...& I mean a TON, for the past 45 years. Tons! Did you ever consider the possibility that a FEW women (the attractive ones) have a lot more sex than the majority of women; and that a FEW men (the ones with game) have a lot more sex than the majority of men?

Let me put this another way. Men an women generally will have a similar sex drive and similar morals when it comes to who, when, and how often they have sex. However (for the sake of argument), let's say 10% of the population, has lower standards, and just wants to have sex as much as possible (they have no inhibitions). Out of that 10% the women are more likely to succeed in actually getting more sex when they set out to do so, where as a larger portion of the men will not.
