Do male doctors get turned on by attractive female patients?

Honest opinion here people. Men, since you possess the male mind no matter how professional a doctor might be, don't you think it'd still excite him examining an attractive ladies breasts, or her vagina. I hear male doctors are told not to make eye contact while doing these exams to lower chances of getting aroused. Also, some within the industry say to avoid male doctors if you're female as long as it;s possible. I hear gynecologists & plastic surgeons are the most perverse. I think especially if they are seeing overweight, unattractive, diseased and older woman routinely, that when the odd fit, healthy & attractive woman comes in that it must turn them on. My plastic surgeon examined my breasts, but then when I thought it was over he grabbed them again & rubbed my nipples! He knows nipples are sensitive & he could see me getting flustered. Me thinks he did that on purpose. It was just us in the room.

  • Wow that was not right what happened you could get him in a lot of trouble for that ide go as far as to way sexual assult he should have been professional not touching you. Start by reporting him to the medical board. Male doctors are not so posed to get turned on by there patients, you have no idea how angry this makes me I'm almost sure he must be doing this to his other patients. I mean I guess you can also go to the police at least that's what I would do, but I guess he doesent think that you will do that. He is a pervert hands down. I don't care how attractive the woman is he needs to only be touching them to be sure you don't have breast cancer not playing with you for his own pleasure.

    • Unless he is in private practice write a letter to one of the top administrators of the medical group. Describe what happened and who the doctor was and ask them if that is standard procedure for their medical group. Having a nurse who is on the same payroll as the doctor isn't going to help because the nurse is on the payroll too so she won't say a word. I really feel sorry for you having to go through that sexual abuse. Female doctors is the way to go. A man is a man and the best they can do is "act" like he's professional.

  • While I can't vouch for what's going on inside the guys heads, I've always found my male gynocologist to be very professional, even more professional than any of the female doctors I've had. in my experience, female doctors just kind of waltz right in like they own the place and know all about your problems while male doctors are more gentle, concerned, and essentially over-correct their behavior to avoid being perceived as a pervert.

  • Yes, of course they do.

I had an experience where I had a doctor come for a house visit and when I opened the door, his face lit up and he looked really happy.

He made a lot of chit chat and asked a fair few questions. Given that I felt like a dying, diseased leper, it made me feel a little better that I didn't look as repulsive as I felt.

  • There are many stories of male doctors acting inappropriately. There are probably some female doctors acting inappropriately as well.
However, the cases of males acting in perverse ways strongly outnumbers the cases of female providers. I don't think women should see male providers for this reason, particularly for breast, pelvic, rectum, etc. exams. Doctors that profess all doctors are desensitized to women and their private parts are disingenuous.

Find another doctor and report this doctor to the medical board. Post a negative comment on review sites (but protect yourself from using possible inflammatory language). In reporting him, you will help other women.

  • First, you shouldn't have been alone in the room with him if you were in any state of undress.

It's not about him being a guy, it's about him being a bad doctor and breaking very common rules.

More generally though, it happens occasionally I'm sure. But they are trained in how to behave and everyone possesses enough self control to get through an exam without incident.

Do I think it's common, no. It is very easy to become desensitized to stuff like that. It's what they do everyday,

That doesn't mean that there aren't pervs out there though. Sounds like you might've found one.

  • Based on my personal experiences, yes male doctors are just like any other males, they're attracted to people that they find attractive.

  • Male doctors do not even think about how attractive you are. When a woman goes to a male doctor for a check-up, surgery, or any other similar purpose, his job is to make sure the woman ends up getting what she needs. He has doctor stuff on his mind; not sex, or how sexy the patient is.

    • 100% true.

    • Not 100% true. Humans are humans & no one is above their primal nature. You can't deny sexy when you see it, but you can act professionally.

    • I agree with comment from (asker). They are humans and are not perfect and it is always easier said that done turning off the sexual arousal switch. Men see tons of women everyday but when they see one that's attractive to them they naturally act differently even if they're simply nicer but I think they do find some women more attractive than others and may have the slightest reaction to that. After all they're not robots.

  • my gyno is male, and I've seen a bulge in his pants a few times when he gets done examining me. I think its natural.

  • And female doctors get attracted to male patients. It happens. In fact, I remember reading this help column where a woman was writing in because she was a doctor and her assistant would always make an extra effort to be in the examining room when attractive males were being examined. She was writing to in to see if she should call her on it or let it go since it didn't cause any harm.

  • I think gyno docs should be women only going forward...I know I would get turned on especially If I saw a hot woman menstruating

    • Has anyone, told you of recent, that you're annoying? Jeez! What it with you and periods. Creepy much?

    • Lol

  • My wife has always had male gynecologists. It's her prerogative, and it doesn't bother me a bit. Does he get turned on? No idea. Does he enjoy looking at my wife? Maybe. Again, it really doesn't bother me. So long as he's a good doctor.

    • What a rubbish husband you are

  • Ok first there should've been a female nurse in the room for both of your protection. Why would he rub your nipples? SMH. That's just really wrong and you definitely should've questioned him on that. I don't know if they get turned on but I hope not. The only time I had a male dr was my first gyno appt so obviously had to get breast and pelvic exams done. It was super awkward but he was very professional and also a nurse was there. There was no nipple rubbing lol but that experience was weird enough that I found me a nice female dr that I go to now. You probably should too

  • of course they do and its natural.

  • Lets think of this basically

Do males get turned on by attractive females?

    Yes

I mean gynecologists are the most sued for malpractice but that could be because inappropriate touching could mean multiple things to multiple girls.

Did you like that he touched you that way?

    or

    are you offended?

  • Yes. There's no way not to. If a really hot woman is naked and you're a straight guy, it's going to turn you on. I'm not sure how much the no-eye contact rule would help. Starring at a hot pair of naked breasts will get to you whether you look at a woman's eyes or not. Touching them will be ever more of a rush.
