I generally use just my hand with no lube. I have used lube on several occasions & found that it produces a much more intense orgasm & you don't have to work as hard or beat it as fast to cum. I have used a fleshlight a couple of times & you need lube with that. The flesh light is not as good as the real thing but it's a close second & a real good substitute.
