A hickey is blood sitting under the surface of your skin, which come from ruptured capillary beds. So ice would prevent the blood from flowing out (some) by constricting the vessels, but your capillaries heal pretty quickly, so the ice would have to be applied instantly in order for it to have any effect (and even then, it won't do much). So the only thing that really works is time - time for your body to reabsorb the blood and clean up the mess.
Apply pressure to it. A common way people will do this is with a large battery (using the negative end). You rub it over your hickey in a circular motion... you need to be a bit firm though, which might hurt, especially since you're already bruised there. But that will help get the blood moving through the vessels, I believe. It's not an immediate fix but it can help a lot.

Massage with ice. Hurts like a mother fu**er but helps a lot. Obviously it won't fade away completely. Just don't fall on anyone's lips. Or get them where they won't be visible.

the only thing that is moderately effective is to take a chapstick cap and put it face down on the mark and twist back and forth

What's Your Opinion? Sign Up Now!There's no secret remedy, it's gotta heal on it's own. If there was a quick solution no one would have them. If it's too hot for a scarf and you're apposed to makeup then you're just gonna have to rock your hickey I'm afraid.
Haha it's not that I'm opposed if I had a hickey I would deffently use make up but no one in my house has the same skin tone and if I asked for it all of a studden every one would get suspicious lol
Ive heard a cold spoon will do the trick, put a spoon in the freezer and hold it on the hickey. Don't remember if it really works but I tried it before
