A lot of people go away to college, where no one knows them and where nothing is going to get back to their parents or friends. They're young, they have more freedom and free time then they'll probably ever have again, and booze and weed are everywhere. Lots of people go a little (or even a lot) wild in this environment, and attitudes can change rapidly. That's where those crazy parties and stuff come from.
But, other people have to work during college, and take more difficult courses of study, and have to really work to keep their grades up, so not everyone is partying all the time. Unlike high school, where most people have similar experiences, college can give you very different experiences from your classmates.
I was late to the table. Not until 26. At university, there was a sort of bitter joke: "the women who like men don't speak English, and the women who speak English don't like men..." And it took me a while to learn some Mandarin--ni hao wa, y'all.
And I ended up losing it to someone I married and divorced in less than two years, who only wanted me for a Green Card and what she could steal, not that I had much to take then.

Quite all right. I lived and I learned. I was in a prep school before university that was just like "Lord Of The Flies", so my relationships with women were delayed and possibly horribly warped. It took me some time to deprogram.
I was a virgin too as were most of my friends in high school, so it wasn't weird or embarrassing, but most of the people I know from college are not virgins. I met a guy in a class, we became a couple, and then lost my virginity. As for the parties, I don't know. I know some girls who got drunk and lost it to a friend, but never really some random guy at a party. You will see when you go to one that 99% of the males who are there are just horny and won't remember your name and most girls wouldn't want that as their first sex partner lol so I don't think it happens that much...?
I lost mine in college but he was my serious boyfriend and it was not in the same type of scene you were talking about. I was rushed into it a bit but it was still a pretty good experience. I was always upset and thought people hated me because I went to college inexperienced with sex. But now in my life it proved to be a good thing that I'm not a slut like a lot of the girls I met in college.
I lost it in college 3rd year to my boyfriend we are still together and going strong.

I lost it in high school, but one of my housemates and a LOT of people on my floor first year didn't loose it before uni. Don't stress I was blown away by how many people were still virgins coming into uni. As for loosing it I took a girls and its the same as before to be honest... you are just a little older, and alcohol is more likely to be involved lol.
(I hasten to add that the girl was sober when she lost it..just to be clear all the guys I knew were drunk when they lost it.)

I didn't lose my virginity till after I was out of college. I ignored women in school to focus on my studies, which helped me with my career, which ultimately really helps you with women.

There were certainly some male friends pushing me, but honestly, I told them girls were just a distraction from my success. I also didn't tell them I was a virgin, they just thought I was a very studious guy that wasn't that interest in sex. It doesn't mean I wasn't horny, I just didn't want to get involved with girls when I was busy with 20 units of study and other activities.
