Is it normal to feel guilty after having sex with your boyfriend?

I love my boyfriend to pieces and I love sex with him, but for some reason after I get back home (from sex) I start feeling guilty and regret doing it... Is it normal? I do love him, he turns me on and he is good at what he does...

  • Sex is from God! Read one Mos 1:22 (animals) and 1:28 (human beings). In both verses He asks His creation to be fertile and multiply!

The problem about premarital sex is the fact that people are often unaware of the responsibility they bear. What would you do if you get pregnant? It can happen with the best contraceptives!

The second "problem" is the "freedom" you have in premarital sex. Those relationsships are not yet as committed as a marriage and there's a danger that they break up. The Bible says that a man and a woman who have slept together became one - they cannot be seperated anymore.

Think these questions through for yourself and I'm sure you'll find the right answer. But you should never feel bad for having sex: It's a gift from God!

An ethics professor of mine (born-again Christian!) even stated once that premarital sex helps to reduce the number of divorces as people can already "try out if it works". I don't support him that strongly but I just wanted to tell you with this that there are people who have a totally different opinion to what the "official" churches state!

It's only the atheists, the people who don't know the Bible, who think that the Scripture sees sexuality as something bad. Feel free to contact me, if you don't want to discuss this further in public, I'm always there for any questions.

    • I feel the same thing with my boyfriend and I am guilty. I want to satisfy him but I don't seem satisfied in the end of the day. I feel guilty because of my family and my relationship with God, and I think sex will affect it. I just feel guilt and shame while my boyfriend feels that I am unatracted to him. What should I do?

  • I don't think it is normal but it doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you either. You may just feel bad because you enjoy it so much. Some people feel guilty when they have something wonderful in their life that they can't quite understand. My Girlfriend went through bad guy after bad guy until she met me. When we first started dating it was hard for her to grasp why I was so nice to her and why she enjoyed being with me so much. She had be conditioned to believe that she doesn't deserve happiness or to be treated with respect. It took her a while to understand it was OK to be happy.

  • Somtimes I do .which is why I want to be his wife he is all the man I need .and I want to mean more to him than just a g.f.I have morals and values .but I love him and knows he want to take me as his wife when he's ready.he already told me he wants to marry me on a beach or by the water! Yes! Your normal trust me.

    • That's good to hear even if it's from a total stranger. I've been beating myself up because I do feel guilty, but I also feel bad because my guilt is taking sex away from him

  • Totally normal but what minimizes the guilt feeling is marriage. However, understandly not all kids who are having sex get married so I would say stay a little longer at his house after you have sex and go do something fun to take your mind off of it and know he still loves you. Gl

  • DO you know what your guilty about? Cause if you don't then it makes no sense, if you really look at it and think right now: Why am I guilty? The answer should pop up, even if only a little, in your mind.

  • Sadly that seems to be common, but shouldn't be. Sex isn't bad or evil. It will pass though.

  • guilty about what?

    • sex... being intimate with him..

    • feeling guilty about sex for no reason doesn't really make sense.

    • well then maybe I don't make any sense but that's how I feel it, I guess that in that case I'm it is not something normal

  • Are you or your family religious?

    • yes

    • That's why. Having premarital sex is against every religion so you feel guilty that you let your religion and/or family down

    • Luckily this world is so easy... Give up your religion and all problems are solved... -.- Do atheists really see themselves as so good people that they have the right to always point their fingers at the others? To the question asker: Read my full answer and let me know your thoughts...

  • religious guilt?
