My boyfriend's condom won't stay on.. Help?!

Every time me and my boyfriend have sex the condom keeps slipping up, it's never fully come off but can be a pain as we have to keep stopping to check its still on. I'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with size as we have tried several types of condoms... Could it be anything to do with rhythm or losing an erection slightly? Any answers would be helpful, I am on the pill but just want to be extra safe :)

  • Sounds like making a mistake in the basics is possible. Make sure that his penis is dry before putting it on. No saliva, pre-cum, lube, etc. on it. Then put it on properly. Unroll a little that will be the resevoir for his semen, but hold it flat (keeping out the air) as you roll it on. You should end up with the condom unrolled on his penis with the tip of th condom extending a bit beyond his penis, but pretty much empty of air. If their is air in there, it can work around the penis and allow it to slip, or worse yet, when the semen comes out, it adds to the pressure in the tip and can get pushed back along the penis and get out.

  • it could be the brand. Every time I've used durex the condom broke.

size is another potential issue. an ex of mine had condoms leftover from her ex that were like super magnum condoms or something. I didn't really pay any attention - I didn't even know they came in different sizes. Anyway, one inevitably fell off.

  • They make condoms with smaller rings, usually have something like "snuggle fit" in the title. Try them. They will slip less, (a little slipping is fine)

Although, losing the erection will do it too. Make sure he is fully aroused when putting it on :)

    • Will try them then thanks :) they can sometimes slip halfway up or more so it may be due to erection more than the type of condom :(

    • If you haven't tried the smaller condoms I would definitely try them. Does he usually lose an erection? Yeah that much slipping is not good.

  • It might have to do with him losing an erection. Sometimes condoms will "ride up" at the bottom during sex but as long as long as it's secure otherwise it should be ok.

    • Okay thank you :)

  • Lol, at first glance it sounds like some joke.. Using the wrong side, he loses his boner for some odd reason, too small?

  • Probably a size issue. He should get condoms made for a smaller d*ck.

  • Yeah he hates condoms. Do yourselves both a favor a get on birth control.

    • As she clearly mentioned in the question, she IS on birth control. And she wants to be safe.

    • Get on better birth control.
