Why do guys like doggy style so much?

every time I hear guys explain why they like this position so much they usually say it's because "I'm really visual" or "Guys are really visual" ... I don't understand why this position is more visually stimulating than any other. To me there are other positions that you can see more things with. So guys can you explain why this position is such a favorite for you? btw... as a side note - I reallllly dislike this position. Out of every position, this position makes me feel like I'm being used. I don't feel like the guy is having sex with ME because he's not looking at me...we're not facing each other...there's no connection. I feel like he's having sex with my vagina. This position makes me feel objectified the most.

  • Face-to-face positions are great for maximum contact and kissing, but you can see much less of your partner; doggy style positions the guy further from his partner so he can see more of you. He can also see your ass (pretty tough to see in missionary!) and he can reach (if not see) your breasts easily too. Arguably, the guy can penetrate more deeply, and, if you're bent over something solid, the guy may be able to thrust harder than he can on a soft mattress in missionary. If y'all are into it, it's a good position for hair-pulling and spanking too. Likely for many, it is also a more dominant position, so there is the potential that you are being more "objectified."

    I think the whole issue of feeling used or objectified is a tricky one. I expect that quite a few guys rather like that dominant perspective and many girls (obviously not all!) like being in that position. My take is that this isn't inherently good or bad, but depends largely on the individuals involved. Taking my girl, a$$ up and head down on the ottoman, is awfully fun, but I can't let that influence the way we make decisions together. Does it make it any harder for me to respect her (or for her to respect herself)? I don't think so, but admit that I'm not 100% certain.

    Do you feel that you cannot maintain a healthy degree of mutual respect if you bend over for a guy? What about blow jobs? I wonder if it's any different depending on whether you're in a committed relationship versus casual sex.

    The penetration is deeper then most others combined with the fact that its easy to thrust quickly because you're not fighting gravity.

  • There are a variety of reasons why guys like this position.

    1) Deeper penetration

    2) More control / better thrusting leverage

    3) We get to enjoy the view of your ass/back while having sex.

    4) It's dominant.

    5) It's animalistic.

    There's nothing wrong with any of these reasons. If you feel like you're being "used" during doggystyle than you have some insecurity issues. Talk this over with your man or go see a therapist.
