I prefer to use pads only too, and although my pas of choice happens to be scented I didn't choose it for that reason.
Buy a thinner pad (more comfortable and less 'sits' as they tend to be super absorbant rather than thick like bad diapers) for a lighter flow and change it more regularly. Do you have a particularly heavy flow? How soon can you smell it?
Be sure to shower every day, perhaps twice a day when you're on your period. And especially after any physical activity.
I've also found that by keeping the hair downstairs to a minimum (whether you wax, shave or just trim) less smell is generated because its less sweaty downstairs.
As to your boyfriend smelling it... My boyfriend has never mentioned that he can smell mine, but he can frequently tell when I'm aroused just by the smell. I do think that people are slightly more finely attuned to the scents of people they are close to. But probably not HUGELY so.1 0 0 0I usually use the "regular flow" pads. I almost never use the thin kind because I have a fear of having leaks, because I used to have them a lot frequently in the past when I used to use ultra thin pads. I shower everyday, usually once. Umm...for me I find that I can't smell it until like more 5 hours after I shower, and then the smell gets worse from there and when I wake up in the morning before I take my shower that is when it is the worst. It is also way worse my last couple of days
of my cycle. When my boyfriend told me he could smell it I had only just changed my pad like less than an hour ago, but it was more than 5 hours after my shower. He didn't like plug his nose or run away from me or sound disgusted, he acted normal.
Change all pads at least about every 4 hours during the day. If you get thin pads with wings, position them right and change them regularly you'll avoid leaks. Wear cotton underwear - less likely to make you sweat and minimise odor risk. Also, at one stage Li-lets were giving 'feminine hygiene wipes' out. They're basically wet wipes. If you get hypo-allergenic baby wet wipes and pack a few into a smaller zip lock bags and use those when you change pads it'll refresh you instantly.
hi dear i have the very same problem but mine is worse because my boyfriend keeps on telling me that i stink when im in my periods even worse he suggested i sleep on the floor when im in my periods, he hates periods with all of his heart and alays make uncomfortable and hurtful comments about my periods
0 0 0 0Don't listen to what they are saying about scented product it's very bad for your lady bits. Just change more often and make sure you clean well, even shower twice a day. Tampons also work , but I like yourself am not really a fan so changing more frequently and showers are my preferred method.

Yes. I believe it is more from the hormones being released in your skin and breath than anything downstairs. It is just nature. It is a different smell, not bad or gross.
0 0 0 0Yeah I can. If I'm close enough to the woman.
Although I have a pretty good sense of smell...0 0 0 0

its possible if you were a pad an havnt changed it in awhile,...i would try and use tampons so you don't have to worry :)
0 0 0 0I know you're afraid of trying it out, but tampons (the only way, really)! They are way more comfortable once you get used to them... if feels completely normal as opposed wearing a diaper.
1 0 0 0Just use tampons, otherwise there's really no way to not smell it. And once you start using them you will never go back to pads.
1 1 0 0I'm too afraid of using tampons. I prefer pads, they're comfortable. Is there really no way to prevent my boyfriend from smelling it? Do you think its weird that he can smell it?
There's really no way, the scented pads reduce the smell but then you smell like scented pad instead. And no, it's not weird, everyone can smell it.
is your bf a shark?
1 0 0 0LOL.. is that why women should not go in the ocean during their periods

0 0 0 0This is totally normal! I do it as well - I think it's something to do with self diagnosis, like just checking for any abnormalities in your bodily function. And don't listen to those guys who say its disgusting - they probably smell their own semen and farts and check on their poo!
0 1 0 0i can smell couch from a mile away
0 0 0 0Tampons. However I can still smell it and its a pleasant smell. Scented tampons and pads are a dead gicve away though.
0 0 1 0I can smell when a woman is on their period and honestly I think it depends on the woman who's on it. I think it's just the woman's hormones mixed with the scent of the pad. The smell isn't bad but I personally don't like the smell.
