I've always showered right before I visit my girl or go on a date, and all of the girls I've dated have done the same. In longer-term relationship where we've lived together, sure, sometimes you want sex when the other person hasn't showered recently, so you either go clean up real quick (most cases), or you kind of agree to skip the foreplay and go right to banging. Sometimes we even jump in the shower together.
I've been with 25-30 girls over the years, and only one (a girl I only saw a few times) was occasionally less-than-freshly clean.
