Why do you call a girl gorgeous?

Why would you call a girl gorgeous? Does it mean better then beautiful, pretty, etc ? Would you say it if you didn't mean it?

I think gorgeous implies the whole package.  For example, a girl has a great outfit on that I've not seen on her before that looks like it was made for her, plus she's an attractive girl and would look good in most any clothes. Telling her she looks gorgeous means she looks radiant and totally in style for where we're going.  Telling a girl she looks beautiful means she's certainly very attractive. Telling her she's absolutely gorgeous means she way up into the glamour model category.  Yeah, I'd say it's means better than pretty but if a guy accented or used an adjective to  describe beautiful, that would almost mean the same except glamour goes more with style and beauty plus it adds a little excitement with it.  lol! I would definitely say if I didn't mean it. If some guy calls you gorgeous consider that you received an exceptional complement... unless he's saying that to get some future favors from you. But you should be able to tell by his sincerity and how his eyes light up.

It really depens on the person, either saying it or hearing it. I use gorgeous as to imply just about like I would if I say hott. I think the word hott can be cheap in most situations. I only use hott if I am flirting and I want to let her know what I think, and I ride a comment of hers and she uses the word hott, like it is hott out, and I would say, "well, not as hott as you are".

But I think gorgeous is the highest word of words, but is nicer and more proper than hott.

For me, when I state some one georgeous, I mean inside and out, she is extremely attractive and inside such a nice person, her personality is everything a bloke dreams of and her looks are just something you couldn't become bored of seeing, no matter how old she or you became, that to me is why some girls get the status of being georgous,x

I've said it to my crush a couple of times because it sounds like it COULD just be playful banter...but I meant it. I doubt id say it unless I meant it.
