Get to a good dermatologist. If the thing develops staph infection and is that deep, it can be life threatening. it need to come out before it becomes really serious. I had a friend with a badly ingrown hair in his nose and he almost died, was in the hospital for a couple of weeks. Better safe than sorry.
Sounds more like a syst and in any case your doctor should be able to easily lance it and remove the junk.
A doctor is a doctor and really doesn't get excited seeing a womans coochie so don't be embarrassed about seeing a male doctor if your female doc seems to be an idiot

Yeah I really hate my doctor. She's an idiot and not really comfortable with a male doctor looking at it. It's flat, not a big bulgy thing.
You could always find a new female doctor under your insurance plan. But if its gotten that big there may be an infection. In any case its best to get it checked out asap.
