  • Why would other girls tease me? We're all girls, we all have periods, lol, there's nothing to tease about, except maybe pms or exaggerated pms. =P They wouldn't be able to tell by my appearance or posture or anything like that, but they might notice a difference in my 'bathroom patterns' if we're particularly close and spend a lot of time together. Like I may be in there more often to change tampons/liners, especially if it's heavy flow. But it's not a big deal, they wouldn't even bring it up. I don't usually have pms symptoms, and rarely have a pms-y attitude. In fact, I think a lot of girls use their periods as an excuse to ACT bitchy and horrible to other people, because they can get away with it, because it's an 'accepted' symptom for that time. At worst, I'm just slightly more irritable, but I'm aware of it, so I don't take it out on anyone else.

I wear the same things I usually wear. I just avoid wearing white, which isn't really an issue for me anyway because I typically don't wear much white in the first place. It's not practical for me, I'm too much of a tomboy to NOT dirty white clothing somehow. Jeans or shorts aren't a problem. A skirt wouldn't be my first choice for that time, but I'll still wear one if I feel like it. I go to the bathroom to change tampons/liners every 3-4 hours or so, pretty much as often as I'd go in there to pee, which would be when I'd do it. Unless my flow was heavy and/or I felt like I might be leaking, then I'd go check more often just in case. But that's why I do the tampon and liner combo during the first couple days, because that's when I'd be more prone to bleeding through a tampon and leaking into my underwear. That's what the liner is for. The last couple days, just a tampon is fine. I don't like pads, not even for at night. I usually get up sometime during the night to use the bathroom anyway, so I don't worry about a tampon being in too long because I can just change it then.

    • wow that was in detail just as I wanted to hear, thanks

    • LOL no problem. Unnecessary detail is my specialty. =P

    • no it wasn't unnecessary. I like it

  • I don't make clothing changes during this time of the month.

With tampons not as often as with just a pad which is virtually never with me.

We are not shy about sharing this information with other girls and sometimes our attitude changes a bit where others can get the idea.

  • Is this like some weird fetish or just curiosity? Anyways I feel like crap so I'd opt for sweat pants because they're comfortable. Not too often do I need to change and no, once you're over twelve you don't get teased about natural body functions.

    • curiosity, not a fetish. anyway thanks

  • I wear jeans. The first few days when my period starts its very light. So I change my pad twice a day. Then the middle days its heavy. So I change my pad four times a day. Then the last few days it goes back to being light. No other women know I have my period. No women tease me while I'm on my period. Why would they? They go through the same process.

    • when I was in school my friend(girl) told me that her friends(girls) used to tease her with some names. and when they had periods she also used to tease them with the same name. in a funny way.

  • I only wear some type of pants when on my period. Skirts seem really convenient when going to the bathroom but I am traumatized because when I was in high school I witnessed a guy come up behind a girl and flip her skirt up, and she was clearly on her period. Embarrassing.

    • Some immature girls do tease other girls when they're on their period. It happened to me once. When I am on my period I am less energetic and all I want to do is sleep and pig out on junk food.

  • I always wear whatever I want to wear. But it also depends on whether I'm wearing tampons or pads. Tampons are better because it feels drier, and so I can move more freely without feeling uncomfortable. Changing it maybe once every 4 or 5 hours. Other girls can know through my attitude, I get easily tired and easily irritated, or became quieter. They don't tease, they empathize. They've all been there and we're not 12.

  • First off, I would like to make one thing very clear about the girl world. There is a general, genuine sympathy for those of us on our periods when they're happening because we all know what hell it is.

And I wear whatever the hell I want. Blood is going to gush out of my vagina regardless of what I'm wearing so why should I let it dictate my wardrobe?

It is most comfortable to wear my pajama pants but that doesn't mean I do.

  • tight jeans so everything feels controlled

    every 3-4 hours
