What does it mean if he says he's horny?

Is he just after sex? I was texting him and he's a really nice guy we hung out and he never brought up sex really lol but when we texted today he told me he was horny lol Im gonna give him a chance but what is your guys's opinion on him? is it normal for guys to be this way? and what does it mean? XD lol he says he wants to hang out though and do regular stuff its not like he's asking for sex only or am I wrong?

It's the same as saying "I'm hungry/thirsty/tired/happy/sad/etc." in a conversation.

He could be testing the waters with regarding sex, but I think if he was only after sex, he'd be more direct about it. Sounds like he just wants to see how you react to such things and possibly get to know more about your sexual side. That just means he's physically attracted to you, it doesn't mean he doesn't care.
