He cried during sex?

I made love to my Fiancee for the first time, in our relationship. We were waiting until marriage but did in the day before. Anyway after we made love, he went down my body and kissed every inch of me, when we came back up my body so that I could meet his face he was crying, trembling, ands eyes were as big as saucers not to mention Hid skin was hot from a deep blush. He didn't say Anything about it, he just held me his arms until we fell asleep. I wonder what made him cry but I'm afraid to ask, in case he gets embarrassed, so, any theories or has this happened to anyone before? What does it mean?
