My boyfriend wants me to become a stripper

We live together and his hours at work have been cut back. We can barely make the rent. He says that my job as a babysitter isn't much at all that I should become a stripper. I don't see how this is normal, why does he want me to promote my body in such a way.

  • Don't let him force you into it. There's nothing wrong with being a stripper, but the fact that he even suggests the idea is pretty disgusting to me. He's supposed to have respect for you..maybe I'm crazy but it sounds a little weird that a boyfriend would try to persuade his girlfriend to do something like that. Not even a regular ordinary job at McDonalds, but a stripper?! Uh I don't know. If the circumstances require that then, I say go for it. But, if his hours are cut back, he should try picking up another part-time shift somewhere. Wouldn't hurt to have two jobs and you can still do what you do, or try to get another job somewhere decent.

  • He sees himself as a pimp and is trying to ho you out. He's too lazy to work, has no respect for you so why not put you on the stroll. It starts out as "baby you should strip" then wants you to do "extras" to make more money. No real man who cares about his woman would ask her to do that. You should dump him whenever you are financially capable of doing so (I say that because you can barely make rent and might need him as a roommate)

  • Why don'y you suggest HE becomes the stripper, after all it's his hours that were cut not yours. Also male strippers can make a lot of money too.

  • He wants you to do it because it has the potential to pay very well. If you have the right looks and you take it seriously, you can make a ton of money doing it (the very best strippers take in 6 figures a year) . But I'd recommend against it. You need the right attitude to be good at doing it, and you seem to view it with hesitation and distaste. It'd only make you feel bad and you wouldn't get much to show for it.

  • It's the easiest kind of legal money (that's not cheating, as remember not everything legal, is exactly moral). It might help get you guys on your feet a little bit. You're probably hot, and know how to dance, so he figures why not use it to your advantage.

  • I reallly wouldn't even consider this xD I assume your boyfriend is so worried and desperate that nothing better can come to mind. I suggest you try your best to find different or higher paying jobs than a sitter or simply MORE jobs together with a sitter.

  • lol I was about to say that if the BA hadn't already lol

But I think you should change your boyfriend not the job ;) :D

  • He sounds like an ass. I don't think it's normal too. Personally, I would dump him because I couldn't stand being with a guy who would be so prone to promote my body. If you still want to be with him, then next time he suggests you to become a stripper, suggest him to become a gigolo.

  • Don't do anything you don't wanna do. Maybe you should be a waitress. Don't be a stripper OK. I don't think a boyfriend that respects you pushes you to be a stripper.

  • Yah that's pretty bizarre. He should be encouraging you to take up a job that is respectable and makes good pay.

Maybe he's the kind of man that's intimidated by a successful woman. Being a stripper probably seems to him like a lowly job that doesn't insult his manliness.

I suggest you find your own way to make money. Don't do anything that makes you uncomfortable.

  • And what do you want to do?

  • Sorry to hear this.

  • I don't see a problem with it. Your choice though

  • If he thinks you're good enough for the job it's easy money, look like any random girl on Facebook and be a stripper, you have to be like one in 10,000

  • He feels you could make good money going it.

    • doing it*

  • It is ultimately up to you. Being a stripper is not for everyone I personally couldn't do it either.

  • That's shame

  • Bail out.

  • Do it for his love - he is in a tough spot. Try to understand his situation and help him out.

Not all strippers are whores. Please remember that.

  • Well, apparently:

    1. He thinks you have a great body.

    2. Has read the million girls on the internet that have done it and say how they made tons of money.
