Hi friends!
In this take I will discuss 3 lovely things you can choose to do when you're visiting the Netherlands. I won't mention the most popular tourist spots as these get enough attention already and I feel the less known activities are even better!
1. Efteling
The Efteling is the loveliest theme park I know. It is an enchanting place and makes for a lovely day out for the whole family! People of all ages adore this place and they have good reason to... There are tons of rollercoasters for the real daredevils, but also enough gorgeous and clever attractions for people that appreciate good stories. There is also a section in the park called 'Fairytale wood', a perfect place for the little ones to explore! And the Efteling has its own soundtracks, the songs are incredibly fun!
My favourite ride is 'The Flying Dutchman'.
"I will sail, storm or not, Easter or not, prohibited or not. I will sail, even into eternity!"
2. Cycling through Zeeland
Not many people have heard of this region of the Netherlands. I live in Zeeland and it is a charming place. People that do come here adore it! The scenery is quite beautiful and ideal for a cycling trip.
As you cycle, you come across lovely little villages that you can explore. I live in Tholen and I love how old-fashioned, peaceful and gorgeous it is here.
3. City Trips
Most people choose to visit Amsterdam when they come to Holland, a logical choice, but it can get very busy there and we have so many smaller cities that I enjoy far more! These are a few of the many awesome places:
Breda
This is a lovely town to do some shopping! Breda has great shops. When you've shopped until you dropped, why not drop at a Bagels & Beans? This is a lovely and cosy restaurant with delicious and healthy choices!
Tip: try the warm tuna bagel!
Deventer
This is definitely the most beautiful city in Holland. It really is magical! Once a year the Charles Dickens Festival is held here.
I hope you enjoyed reading this take and have fun when you do visit the Netherlands!
