They say you haven't really experienced New York City unless you have visited the Statue of Liberty or headed down to Manhattan to see all of the wonderful tourist attractions.
In my opinion, you haven't really felt what it's like to be a New Yorker unless you experience a ride on the New York City subway.
What goes on in the train stations can be like getting front row tickets to watch a show.
I mean there are:
1. Fights
Some people prefer to break it up, while others decide to become professional camera men and record it on their phones.
2. Performances
A. Pole dancing
B. Singing
C. Instruments being played
Like a real show, you can even pay after for being provided with the entertainment.
3. Make up and Hair tutorial
I've seen women walk into the train, and they begin applying their make up. Each and every single time I wonder, were they in that big of a rush that they didn't have the opportunity to do that at home?
I've also seen women on more than one occasion, apply a stocking cap to their head, and put on a wig. These women literally have no shame, it's like a train ride as become a bathroom, where they get themselves ready.
Don't even let me begin to tell you about the time, I saw a middle aged man brushing his teeth on the train. His mouth was foaming with tooth paste, he waited for the train to stop before he spit towards the floor while the doors opened.
How can one possibly be bored riding the subway when there's so much to see in a single ride?
Ever wondered why in online videos, New Yorkers seem to have no reaction to what they see going on around them? It's because we've seen the same thing so many times, that we've become immune to it now.
It's almost impossible to have a reaction anymore.
Literally, nothing that goes on in the subway or train station surprises me anymore!
I'm surprised, when I go weeks without seeing something bizarre on a train! It happens so much!
