We have a right to be proud of our figure. We were born with a healthy body, and we have the right to maintain it. And then show it off if we so please.

Just because our BMI's aren't off the charts doesn't make us sickly.

Being able to run without shortness of breath in the first few feet because of my weight is beautiful. Being able to jump is beautiful. Being able to touch my toes is beautiful. Being able to lift at least half my bodyweight is beautiful. Being able to survive in nature is beautiful, Etc, etc.

So yes, paste pictures and fill commercials with girls who look like me. Thin, running, laughing, eating, jumping, smiling, and modeling. It's the ideal image of beauty.

Because Healthy = Beautiful.

And we're not apologizing for it.

I can agree with your statement to a fault. Yea it is true that people need to stop shaming others for apperance but the reality is simply that others should not judge others. But thinness is not inherently the ideal beauty people are beautiful when they except themselves and even larger people can be beautiful also thinness dosent always equal health in many cases medically and psychologically thinness actually equals non health. I mind you that its not in every case but for bulimics, anorexics, protean deficient, and those who suffer from some rare issues thinness is the equivalent of non health. That being said though there are many whom are thin naturally due to habits formed or simply just luck of the genetic draw but in no way are thin people any more beautiful than others. Even with that being stated the issue really comes down to self image and how people perceive themselves as to the world around them. People who do struggle with weight both in the thin concept and in the large concept often are plagued by their own minds and often have feelings of low self worth which creates self hate and in turn creates blind judgment/ resentment to those that are different physically. Scocial bias also plays a roll in creating negative tigmas both for the thin and for the large and not only relating to weight but also to race, gender, sexuality, and general scocial status. Society can be in many ways to many different people which is why we must grow to except one another beyond the superficial things such as in this case pertaining to weight. The other issue is the concept of malace we create malace by acting better than others or being overly prideful when the reality is we actually often more than not envy tose who are different. Thin people may envy larger people for being able to eat what they may without so much worry over the gain large people often envy thin people because of their ability to lose weight but often these are simply blind assumptions. The reality often more than not is that those who are thin work very hard to be and stay thin and those who are large are often not large by choice simply due to genetic faults, or habits that have developed from young age by their parents there are struggles on both sides.

Damn. Thats a lot. Anyways I am skinny and often considered a twig that can be snapped in half. But at least I am healthy. I make sure that I consume all my vitamins, protein, carbs, etc. To stay healthy (I am nutrition obsessed.) At least I actually lift weights, squat, and can run a mile in under 7:21 without getting wheezy and exhausted. @Grungenoreos well that's a bummer and a real shame because thin women can be just as sexy as larger women and visa versa. People often misconstrue sexyness with some kind of body type and the reality is that all women are beautiful in my book ad all women can be sexy and radiate sexuality. Keep in mind sexy is a concept that is more so of mindset more than it is of body type. Any one and this goes for guys to can be sexy because sexyness comes from confidence and personal strength and that often radiates outwardly which is what sexyness is the outward representation of ones personal confidence and allure. So anyone can be sexy as long as hold those traits at a high in the moments in which they mean to do so. I'm sure you are plenty attractive but you can't put yourself down like that because it's in the attitude about yourself. Thing is I was very confident once a upon a time. My parents sugar coated how beautiful I am and being 12-14 I liked what I saw in the mirror. But that changed when I was always constantly bullied. I was often called ugly or just okay looking by both guys and girls. No guy I liked liked me back and girls and guys included would say that I had no ass like it was a bad thing. I never knew it was or that it even mattered at that age or why guys liked butts and breasts. But then I learned why and how the more wider your hips are in comparison to your waist and the bigger your bum (in proportion to your body) the more attractive your body is. I won't go into details but science backs it up.

To your parents you are their angel their beauty their love in no way will you ever be flawed. So parents tell you those things and build you up and make you feel good almost like holding gold. Then you grow up a bit and realize that others can be cruel hearts, and hateful, and only want to bring you down so you think the gold you held is fool's gold and you toss it asside. The hard part about confidence is that it's not that you don't know what it is the hard part is identifying real confidence from fake confidence. People look in the mirror to see themselves and they look at their body and judge instantly they say to themselves I'm not good enough, or not pick about just these stupid little details, or try to find flaws for what that's not confidence that's not loving yourself. In turn and time that fear becomes anger, sadness, pain, and if let go undelt with at times death. Those fearful people often become insecure in themselves and in turn to fill the whole in their hearts lash out at others, make fun of others, hurt others, kill others, crush dreams all in the hopes to fill the whole and for a moment just forget that they feel empty because they won't face themselves inside. Highschool and your age group there is a lot of that insecure kids that just want to fill that void, just want to be seen, or heard, or just not hurt for a moment and with that comes gossip, and insults, rudeness, and pain. There is truth in the saying misery loves company and it dose because being miserable sucks so why not spread the suck they say. Third part coming up.

What's really crappy is that good people like you get caught in the crossfire of their insecurities and get told that your less than, or not beautiful, or ugly, or fat, or to thin. Hell they will get at anything they can just to spread the suck around and that creates more insecurity and more suck. That being said a confident person knows not to listen to the words of others, knows that confidence dosent come from what others say or what their parents say or even what the world says confidence comes by looking inside and finding out who you are beyond what others may think. That journey can be scary sometimes but when done creates this amazing quality to a person, and it's that same quality that begins to leak out like a wild river in to an ocean, and suddenly people attract to it like a moth to the flame. Suddenly the problems just aren't so big and the world is a smaller more manageable place to be even how others perceive that confident person the old opinions fade away. Part four

But the truthfully confident don't let that go to their heads they just give thanks for who they are and finding themselves. You are beautiful, and smart, and funny, and kind, and good, and when your ready to be even sexy. As for science study better because beauty is different all across the world from tribes who think long neck are beautiful so they add rings to their necks to elongate it, to places and culture's that admire breast, or butts, or hair, or feet, or obesity, and yes even thinness. Beauty historically is truthfully in the eye of the beholder which means beauty is inside and what we as people make of it. You are beautiful beyond what you may think and all you need to do is look inside to find it after that others will know you are because you'll radiate it like a flame radiates light. Part five

I’m not even thin or skinny and there was a time during college where I interned at a very prominent corporate business as a contract specialist. I was on a team full of six women including our boss and one man. When I first got there, my boss and one of my coworkers would CONSTANTLY make comments about my body referring to me as “the skinny girl.” The thing is: I am FAR from skinny. I have hips, a**, and tits but because I am smaller than them with a smaller frame than them, they automatically categorized me as skinny. My former boss was very obsessed with body image because she was chubby as a kid in addition to being a Cancer survivor who had a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy so femininity and body image was constantly on her mind. I empathized with her but still her comments were unprofessional and inappropriate. Like one time, I was walking to my cubicle with a large sandwich from the meeting room and she said, “Gosh, that sandwich is even bigger than you!” Another time she made some random comment like “No brownies for the skinny girl!” when the male on our team brought in some brownies from his mother in law. The other woman, Tammy, referred to me as “little girl” although I was a grown adult so I had to tell her, “I’m not a little girl. I’m a grown woman with life experience. Stop calling me that.”

So you do have a point. There are a lot of females out there who do not take care of their bodies and do nothing about the excessive fat accumulating on their figures then try to make subliminal, condescending comments towards women who aren’t as big as them. Those women need to stop worrying about our bodies and fix their own. Focusing on my physique isn’t going to fix a bigger woman’s struggles when she’s in the dressing room.

This makes me feel bad because I know I will never look like these women. I would kill to look like them. I have a body of a 12 year old boy with boobs and it sucks because no one thinks you are anything more than a 4 unless they count your face. Then I would get a 6. Thing is I am healthy though. I haven't gotten sick in for ever, I follow a good plan to make sure I get all the vitamins, calcium, protein, calories, carbs, fat, etc. I need. I work out regularly which includings sprinting and lifting wieights as well as squatting. At 5'2 a good weight is 104-130 and I am 114 pounds... Sucks because I know personality is what matters most but I dont want to be with a guy that can call me sexy without lying. I dont like any sugar coated bullshit.

All I get told is (by guys and girls included) is that guys don't like that shit and all my research points to the fact that the waist to hip ratio is important when it comes to physical attraction. I am trying to gain weight in hopes of being curvier. 130 I believe is my weight limit. I ain't skinny. I am in the middle of my weight zone at 5'2 (im 114 lbs) but imma see what adding 12 pounds will. I am now eating 5 meals a day with snacks... So far i only gained 8 ounces. Thin people are not ideal beauty. Beauty is the very own perception of the person viewing it. In your eyes thin people are beautiful. In my eyes thin people are beautiful. In another's eyes larger people are beautiful. In a friend's eyes people who have no meat are beautiful, see my point?
Healthy is beautiful, but skinny doesn't mean healthy.
My friend is skinny and he can't even run to his male box.
I'm on the "at risk of obese" part on the BMI scale, but I run often, exercise, and I have more muscle than body fat. If my friend and I had a fitness competition he would surely lose and it has nothing to do with his weight.
Also BMI's mean Sh** to me for the simple fact they only do height and weight.
A 5'3 athletic trainer who weighs 175 and 85% of that is muscle would be considered obese to a yoga instructor who is 5'11 and weighs 123 and 35% of that is muscle she just carries her fat well.
Assuming both have healthy life styles neither are unhealthy, but the BMI chart considers one Obese and the other Underweight.

I prefer thinner people when it comes to dating, I encourage self love and body positivity and in no way condone that being overweight in a none healthy way.

But a basic BMI is shit and Skinny doesn't mean healthy.

They work at the same place doing the same job. They start work and end work the same time. Guy 1 eats Los of bacon with breakfast, goes to places like in - N - Out Burger, Checkers, McDonalds for lunch and if he brings his lunch it includes twinkies, chips, oreos pop etc. When he gets home has a big dinner that includes lots of fried foods, 12oz steak, lots of starch etc not all on the same da. Sits in front of the TV while having dinner. Guy 2 eats oatmeal, cream of wheat with fruit, sometimes has bacon with breakfast. Lunch might go out to have fast food once in a while but for the most part brings his lunch which may include swiss rolls, oranges, apples, carrots, chips, juice etc. When he gets home has a sensible dinner which may include, salad, shrimp, rice etc. He may or may not go for a walk after dinner but depends on if he

For lunch brings his lunch each day which may include fruits and vegetables, water, Mediterranean wraps, nuts, yogurt, etc. For dinner has lean meats and lean fish with vegetables, rice etc. He mainly likes working out by going on hikes, swimming, bicycling, lifting weights etc. Guy 1 eats unhealthy and does not go out of his way to exercise/workout. Guy 2 eats somewhat health and works out once I'm a while. Guy 3 clean eats and exercises/worksout on a regular basis. All of their BMI's are the same since they are all the same height and weight. That is why I do not go by BMI at all.

In my experience big people can either be cool or are insecure loudmouth dbags. They use PC protection to badmouth and bully fit people in a pathetic effort to make themselves feel better. I've also met big people who have awesome personalities and I accept those people wholeheartedly. However it's rare to find big people who are in between.

I know some people are more genetically predisposed to put on the pounds. However that is to a certain EXTENT. I used to be a pro MMA fighter and I've met heavyweights who were big in the midsection but still VERY athletic. They moved fast, had good cardio and really did train hard. The word fat doesn't even cross my mind with those guys. You could just tell by how they walk. However many other heavy people really are just lazy. Time for fat scooters...

i agree with one statement in this whole take: healthy is beautiful. but healthy and skinny are not mutually exclusive, and women of any size can be beautiful.

now, before you go putting words in my mouth, i think of weight loss in terms of health. on top of the obvious toll that age and injury take on anyone, i have thyroid issues: i'm on a first-name basis with the staff at my local blood clinic, have to watch what i eat more than the average person, and take pills every day to keep from blowing up like a beached whale. but i've lost almost 20 pounds since my birthday in February.

for the first time ever, i'm seeing results and, of that, i am proud. that said, i will never shame another person for not doing the same. weight loss is hard work, and i'm more than happy to provide encouragement or help if someone asks me for it. but, at the end of the day, it's not my place to put someone down.

I get your point but this take was horribly written. You make it sound like there's this war on skinny people when you and I and every other woman know that a fat woman has it way harder than skinny women. I'm not fat or skinny, but I've been severely underweight and I know I didn't have it nearly as hard as fatter women.

Also, if you did any bit of research, you'd know the BMI chart doesn't mean shit. It's a chart invented in the 19th century to calculate the ideal (not healthy) weight of white men and white women. Your BMI can be off the charts, but BMI is bull because it doesn't take into account muscle mass or ethnicity or metabolic rate, all which determine how much fat on your body is a healthy fat. You sound very high and mighty when you have zero reason to be. My BMI is 30 and I'm 5'3, but I played soccer for 17 years and ran track for 4 and did marching band for 6 and I still play sports and go to the gym. My dietician calculated mine and it came out that all that combined with my muscle mass and ethnicity meant that my BMI is actually a healthy one.

Also, Beauty=Healthy, but Skinny does not. So just because you're skinny doesn't necessarily mean your healthy just like being 20 pounds overweight doesn't necessarily make you unhealthy. I run perfectly fine at my weight, too, and I'm not 140lbs. If you really were talking about 'beauty', you'd encompass all women, not just the skinny ones. But you're not. You being 'skinny' doesn't make you beautiful, either. It's your personality. And if this Take reflects any part of your personality, I don't think I could necessarily say I find it beautiful.

I am skinny and this take didn't do much for me because science and the guysin my life are proof that curvy is sexy. Not the fat kind of curvy. Its just i am thin (naturally!!) and have very little defined curves. @Oram52 I haven't grown much at all in the past few years. I first got my monthly a couple weeks after I turned 12. I don't remember when exactly did I become 5'2 but all I know is that I got measured 5'2 in my gym class at the end of 8th grade and since than I basically been the same height. Big deal I am a quarter of inch more lmao at 17 1/2. I also can fit lots of my clothes from the past 4 years. The only exception is a bunch of my jeans from a year ago because a year ago I lost a bunch of weight and was fitting a size 1. I am back to how I was before I lost weight which is basically a size 3 and 4. Still not curvy. Funny thing is my waist to hip ratio is a.72 because its nine inches and three quarters apart so that isn't bad at all... Except it doesn't look like it and I think its because of where and how my hips are set. I have low set hips and a high waist... Low set hips as in the widest part of my hips are around the bottom part of my butt cheeks and my upper thighs.

Yes in a way you did you said "it's only fat women that complain about about fat shaming" as if they shouldn't like it's acceptable. Skinny women are the only ones that complain about skinny shamming but you didn't care to say that.

And also your beginning sentence is encouraging the QA while you never once mentioned that she did exactly that or say that it's wrong. So yeah you did.

It's one thing to agree that people should be healthy but she went beyond that and did the exact thing she said she wishes people didn't do to her.

You're right that skinny shaming is wrong but this take was executed very poorly and I feel like you're no better than those who shame thin women, due to the passive-aggressiveness in your take.
Plenty of thin people eat unhealthy, have no stamina and are not agile. You're stereotyping both thin and overweight people in this take.

True!! Everyone is different. There are healthy, thin people and healthy and not so thin people. There are lots of thin people who dont eat healthy and aren't agile or in shape. And there are plenty of average weight and thick people who are agile and in shape. It all boils down really to fat and muscle percentage. A thin person can be smaller than a fat person but still be mainly full of fat and have less muscle than the fat person. It happens

How about stop shaming anyone... skinny can be healthy and a little chubby can also be healthy.. as long as you're eating right and taking care of yourself.. Fat people need to stop shaming skinny ones to feel better about their lazy asses.. and skinny people need to stop shaming anyone who's slightly big just because skinny is the beauty standard.. cuz it's not.. I am a naturally thin girl. and I seriously don't work for it.. I eat junk and sleep all the time because of my school.. but that doesn't give me a right to shame people who are not thin like me.. What you said doesn't make sense. 2/3 of our country is overweight or obese. Very few people want to be overweight or obese, yet they are.

I think many doctors here often don't even tell patients to lose weight because they realize the odds of that happening are almost zero, even though it often puts their mortality as risk. It's an epidemic that there isn't a current remedy for. Mrs. Obama made childrens weight management her main focus as the first lady even because of how dire the situation is.

Where are you from? I want to got there. Also I hate being skinny because even though I am in shape (I work at it) I have very little curves. It seems boys my age really care a lot about big butts and ass and hips. They want flat stomache with big curves... Funny because I am 114 pounds at 5'2 and thats a good weight for my height (weight range 104-130). I have a 22% fat percentage... And people say I must gain weight... Oh well. Hopefully I will get curvier in my 20s. I heard of it happening. For now, no boyfriends for me. Too much negativity. Apparently I am not that attractive though my face is considered "cute". My body is ehhh.

@Grungenoreos You may think extremely curvy is what all guys want. I used to think pretty much all women wanted or preferred guys with very muscular bodies too. Right now the curvy body ideal is shown a lot in pop culture. It's a trend. That doesn't mean all guys or even a majority prefer the very curvy body, just like in reality most girls don't want very muscular guys. A lot of guys find your body attractive like it is currently. A lot of 17 year old guys are cautious (even brainwashed) of dating other 17 year olds because of their reputation and what others will think. In a few years, most guys won't care much about what their friends will think (because of no more high school) and they will start to interpret your looks based more on your looks instead of what your reputation is and what their friends will think.

@cavmanier I won't believe it until I see it. As for now I guess I should get used to being called a twig with no ass, a 12 year old boy with boobs. Funny because I really do try my best to take care of myself and develop my curves. A lot of women in my family are hourglass. It is a scientific fact that the waist to hip ratio is what really makes the female body more attractive. The closer it is to.7 or below, the more beautiful and feminine the figure looks... I won't go into detail but hourglass isn't the ideal body shape for no reason (even though apparently only 8.4% have it)

@cavmanier They constantly change. My waist always tends to flucuate between 25 and 26 1/2 inches. Trying to gain weight and getting it to go to the right place is hard since it out of your control. Anyways right now I am a 35-25 1/2-35. I dont look like it though. I am very skinny. One of my friends who supports my type of body posted up a take on how skinny girls can be curvy and what it looks like, one girl was my shape and damn did that photo get a lot of hate. Stick, too thin, tummy too flat, not curvy at all, looks anorexic, looks nasty, has flat hips, needs a sandwhich etc. People liked it the least.

@cavmanier oh and my hips flucate a lot too. When i was thinner, my hips were also smaller. But basically I am the same shape. I was initially 36-24 1/2-33 a year ago. I went to 36-25-33.75 in a few months of trying to get healthy (i was weak af and the skinny kind of fat)). Now I am 35-25-34.75 on an empty stomache. When i am full like now I am 35-25 1/2-35... Its weird but ya it changes a lot. Surprisingly a lot of people still think im not curvy

But i will admit I am very insecure. But i think I have a right to be. I have always been the loner and have had quite a few heartbreaks. Ya sure, they should be nothing. But to me they aren't because they were guys that mattered a lot to me. I now realize that its okay to be single and stay single. Im in the process of accepting myself as I am... Im not quite there yet of course

But ya in my aquatics and boating fitness class we get measured every two months. i started it last year so thats how I know what measurements tend to be a lot of the time. We have measurements goals and well thats just how it is in this class
