5 Things That Really Grind My Gears

5 Things That Really Grind My Gears

Yes this is going to be a list of common everyday things that piss me off. These are things I read about or experience on a daily basis.

1. Lines at the checkout counter. Especially at a gas station.

Yes I admit, I do have a problem with this one. Especially when there is a line and very few gas pumps. But in some cases, like if they are older, I will let it slide. Most times I have a very limited schedule and time to get what I need. But the biggest problem for me is those who purchase tobacco products. Seriously, why can they not just make it to where tobacco products can be purchased over the counter? I mean you can still have cameras watching or vigilant salespeople. If they did it that way, then service wouldn't take so long.

2. Being asked to donate to a charity

I understand there are some good charities out there like American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Children's Miracle Network and Make A Wish. I do support charities like that. But I do not like it when I am harassed by a telephone call asking to donate to some charity I have never heard of. I also do not like the idea of using sports, businesses, TV shows etc...to convey the message to donate.

3. Telemarketers

Calling right at dinnertime. I understand they have a job to do but the companies don't. They keep putting our numbers in robo-dialers to make people push a product we don't want. Plus, third-party companies buy and sell our info like its cattle.

4. Political Ads, especially on YouTube

I get it, you want us to vote for you. That doesn't mean you can bombard us with mailers, ads, and other things. Some people may not want to vote. It pisses me off when they kinda make false accusations against each other that we do not know if they are true or not. Why can't they release ads at least trying to be respectful of each other, or saying it doesn't matter as long as you vote?

5. People who think they know everything

Yesterday, my sister's boyfriends sister was being all like pregnancy was the easiest part, after the baby was the hardest. They were also saying they don't want the baby to be born on Halloween, because it was the scariest time of the year. Needless to say my sister and stepmom were pissed off. I don't blame them. My stepmom had three kids, plus has had a lot of experience. Plus they were first-time parents as well. So they understand her struggle. My sisters boyfriend's parents and family are know-it-alls and ignorant anyways. Pregnancy I'm sure is not the same for everyone.

So those are just a few things that grind my gears. What are some of yours?
