Why Valentine's day is bogus

Society loves repetition. No, society thrives on repetition. Thats why it has build its whole structure around it. the calendar, school, jobs, all fit around that paradigm.

Have a nice day, they say to you every day. good morning, good evening, good month, year. cause thats what it is. just "another day". (Not the continuation of the previous one and the one before the next. What continuation after all. You have to be producing some Work, to speak about Continuation). Implying "have fun indulging in another boring day of your routine, being a good little gear of the machine, and concentrating all your focus and lifeforce on how to pay the upcoming bills, which is your only raison d'etre in life right?

Why Valentine's Day Is Bogus

Society hates Memory. It hates continuation. Cause with continuation comes responsibility. It holds you accountable of your past deeds and responsible for the generations to come. It requires real self sacrifice and dedication and thriving, but brings forth the best qualities and true potential of the human being.

Repetion on the other hand, provides society with certainty. The anarchic and untamable soul of the humane artist/creator is dangerous for that regime. Its unpredictable and can't be confined in molds. Routine also provides society with a false sense of safety and immortality. The perpetuation of the routine is a drug that numbs the senses and gives you the idea you are untouchable. You just have to press the reboot button and everything is anew right? a new day, a new life. like computers. (new year resolutions anyone? ) no strategic mistakes seeding longterm consequences. No regretable and repentable pasts.

Why Valentine's Day Is Bogus

Society wants to think we will live forever. It despises memento mori, having a memory of death. It almost acts like death doesn't exist and made a tabboo out of it. Such a memory, makes you prioritise the truly important things in life and seek a life of virtue, fairness, and utilising all your potential. The societal person though is like a child, he thinks he is immortal. This false sense of security is not the only benefit for the machine. It needs her willing consumers to induldge with unquenchable thirst.

Why Valentine's Day Is Bogus

Cause what is a day like Valentine's anyway? Just the flower industry these days gains billions! Not to mention sweets, chocolates, gifts, sex shops and lingeries. It's just a big happy celebration of capitalism. And its an excuse from our side to induldge in our consuming madness and shoppaholic pseudotherapy/ inner gap filling. with the pretence of love and care for the other person of course. Or to numb our consciousness and show ourselves how "loving" we are to our partner (even if often our everyday life shows otherwise).

Why Valentine's Day Is Bogus

Does our partner really needs such superficialities to be happy? Is this cheesy, commercialised model of love that was a product of hollywood movies and advertisements really what we should strive for? It reminds me a bit of the women's day. If you come to me and tell me happy women's day i'll maybe punch you in the face. Cause you imply, "well, we rule all year long, lets pretend that today you too matter a little bit". If we needed just a specific day to love we might probably want to stop pretending we try to love in the first place.

Why Valentine's Day Is Bogus

And if you are really going to do it. At least try to evolve a little in humanity and empathy. If you buy your partner a gift, at least try to buy what She/He would find cool, and not what YOU like, like 99,999% of people do. no matter how cheesy, or contrast to Your liking that might be. Remember, its not a gift about your self. You dont have to like it. like AT ALL. get over it. and if you dont know what he/she likes then that might say a lot about the depth and quality of the relationship as well. Just ask at least. Do it subtly though, get a heartfelt answer, not what he'd say to please you.

For the toxic suspicious mofos that will rush to say i do that in reaction to some butthurtness. Dont worry, i'm married, and i thankfully found a husband with the same ideals as me. The same "craziness" as you'd say. (thats how logic is called in a crazy world). Well you poisoned Socrates, my poor ass couldnt hope for much better hehe... .
