Who's Smarter? Women vs. Men

In response to articles like this, it is clear we are not over the battle of the sexes. Feminists are consistently trying to put women as superior beings and portray men as the second class citizens they are.

Where are the references in these type of articles? Where does this information feminists spread come from?

Are women really smarter than men as feminists claim?

Who's Smarter? Women vs. Men

J Phillippe Rushton, a psychologist at the University of Western Ontario, Canada said: "For 100 years there's been a consensus among psychologists that there is no sex difference in intelligence."

But such study showed that men have larger brains than women, a 100 gram difference after correcting for body size. Rushton found similar results in a study of gender and brain size.

To determine if there was a link between gender and intelligence, and perhaps between brain size and intelligence, Rushton and a colleague analyzed the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores from 100,000 17- and 18-year-olds.

When Rushton and colleagues weighted each SAT question by an established general intelligence factor called the g-factor, they discovered that males surpassed females by an average of 3.6 IQ points.

This data exploded just a few years ago and ever since researcher Richard Lynn challenged the "there's no difference" consensus on two arguments:

1- Males have bigger brain size in proportion to their body, and that

2 - there are little or no sex differences up until the age of 16 because males have slower developmental maturation.

Richard Lynn and Paul Irwing published in 2005 that the mean IQ of men exceeded that of women by up to 5 points on the Raven's Progressive Matrices test.

Jackson and Philipe Rushton found males aged 17–18 years had average of 3.63 IQ points in excess of their female equivalents on the Scholastic Assessment Test.

Irwing found a 3-point IQ advantage for males in g from subjects aged 16–89 in the United States on the WAIS III test favouring men on the information, arithmetic and symbol search and favoring women on the processing speed.

A study by Ian Deary, Paul Irwing, Geoff Der, and Timothy Bates, focusing on the ASVAB showed a significantly higher variance in male scores, resulting in more than twice as many men as women scoring in the top 2%.

The study also found a very small (d' ≈ 0.07, less than 7%, of a standard deviation) average male advantage in g on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test.

An entirely different study by researcher Jianghong Liu also found 3 points higher male scores on the WISC which is the children version of the WAIS III.

She stated that greater male performance on items such as Picture Arrangement, Object Assembly, Picture Completion and Block Design are because they measure visual–spatial abilities in which males typically perform better than females.

Women usually score higher on EI (Emotional Intelligence) which involves increased abilities such as:

- Self-Management

- Social Awareness

- Social Interactions

- Professional interactions

- Stress management

"Emotional intelligence can be defined as the ability to monitor one's own and other people's emotions, to discriminate between different emotions and label them appropriately and to use emotional information to guide thinking and behavior."

With that said, emotional intelligence is not a significant factor when it comes to overall intelligence, but overall performance as researchers conclude.

"The authors found that overall emotional intelligence, emotional perception, and emotional regulation uniquely explained individual cognitive-based performance over and beyond the level attributable to general intelligence."

Given these biological differences we can safely say men on average are smarter than women.

That's not to say all men are smarter than all women, but that men - on average - are smarter than most women out there, and that women have better emotional performance - on average- than most men out there.

This should put a lesson on these feminists when they make articles claiming women are smarter than men...

just because?
