Have you ever been involved in something, or with someone, or just have been out of touch with everything because society and life has pulled you away?

You tend to forget who you are sometimes when life and society have pulled you in all directions. In some cases, you go above and beyond for some things, and only to have yourself be let down by those expectations you have on someone. Or you been broken and dont want to rebuild.

We take our jobs for example.We do our best, and expect someone to notice the hard work and dedication, only to realize that no one really is looking and that "pat on the back" we long for won't come because they think that, its what you signed up for and you are just doing your job. But what about if you dont get paid for it, what about if its all volunteer, and even if you outshine everyone else, they just dont like you and dont care but would choose some trouble maker over a straight shooter..

Then you got the relationship aspect. You meet someone, think it will work. You have these expectations in your head, thinking that since the last one didn't work, this one will work too. So you do the same things like you did in the last one, only for it to fail again. And you think you learned your lesson. But sadly you didn't. You did all the good things. And they kept on saying "you really are a nice guy"...over..and..over again...

I know Im a nice guy. I bought you a token of my heart to show you I am a nice guy, and you disregard that and go to someone else.

And the last of many facades, your so-called friends who want to go out for drinks.

Im sure we got people like this in our lives. They dont wanna hang out with you but when you go out by yourself, you see them with other people hanging out and their look on their face, oblivious to you or your feelings are like "oh..hey...didn't expect"..... Yeah...

So when you have no one to have your back when you go out, when you have a job in which no one is thankful for what you do, when you try and make a relationship work, and it dont. And your friends aren't there for you. But you do something to help them. Is it worth it? You forget who you are because you do so much to help everyone else. And not who you are.

You can be self independent on yourself. But sometimes a little reassurance from someone else helps sometimes..

I get what you mean by feeling unappreciated and unaccepted by others.

Because I've had fake friends and flakers myself. People that solely take advantage of you only because only you "can be" a friend to them and they'll use you to their advantage. Use you to only for what they can gain from you and benefit from just by being around you. I've been through that way too many fucking times than I lost track of. People that keep flaking and cancelling plans that we agreed on are just as bad if not worse. They deliberately and intentionally stop communication when you are trying to contact them and they would only continuously ignore you about the plans for meeting up and hanging out earlier and constantly making up bullshit excuses instead of being straight up and honest that they really don't feel like hanging out with you and being your friend. They would only call or contact you when they feel or think that they "need" you and if they don't feel or think that they "need" you, then they simply just don't give a fuck about you. Been through all of that myself.

So eventually I dropped all contact with all the people that flaked or were only taking advantage of me, but not until AFTER I had learned it the hard way.

I feel your pain. I was talking to this guy for a month, thinking we'd be something more. Guess i was wrong. We're such a fcked up match because we oddly still like eachother although we'll never be together
