The Topic Most People Don't Talk About Because They Think it's Not Important

There are many issues and topics people don't feel comfortable talking for many reasons. Maybe they are afraid it'll make them look bad, maybe it's not "politically correct"or maybe they just think it's not important. The topic I'm going to talk about is usually ignored by many. I'm going to talk about how people of Asian ancestry are viewed in the West.

The Topic Most People Don't Talk About Because They Think it's Not Important

1.) Asians are treated well

Thankfully us Westernised Asians are treated fairly nowadays here in the US. We get the same opportunities, we very rarely face bigotry, we can live like everyone else.

2.) Subtle bigotry

However, there is still some bigotry but it's not from a specific ethnic or racial group, it's from the far left. the far left includes groups such as the radical liberals(SJWs) and third wave feminists. The bigotry they show towards Asians isn't like the bigotry everyone is familiar with, it's more subtle since they show bigotry with favoritism. They use deception to get away with favoritism.

3.) How favoritism hurts the first world Asian communities

You would think that a group that is notoriously known as the "social justice warriors" would be helping the first world Asian communities but they are not. They have shown it on various occasions that they don't really care about the first world Asian communities. They mostly focus on Women's, Black's LGBT's and muslim's issues but they very rarely give any attention to the other groups such as the Asians, Hispanics, Native Americans, Whites and Christians. It was only recently that the SJWs started to care about Hispanics.

4.) Political correctness doesn't benefit first world Asians

It actually causes problems for first world Asians. When a person mocks Asians by talking in a stereotypical way, everyone laughs. If someone mocks blacks or LGBT by acting in a stereotypical manner, everyone goes berserk and tries to ruin the person's reputation by labeling them a "racist" or a "Homophobe".

5.) Jealousy of AMWF couples

AMWF stands for "Asian male White female". You probably are familiar with the stereotype that Asian women tend to like White men, well that's all it is, a stereotype. In reality, first world Asian women usually don't have preferences when it comes to dating.

The one couple you won't see very often are AMWF couples, yes they exist. There are even Instagram and Facebook pages for AMWF but they are not as common as other interracial couples.

The reasons why you won't see these couples very often us because of how males of Asian ancestry are depicted by the media. There are various stereotypes surrounding Asian males. Also, because Asian males assume that white women aren't interested in them and vice versa. Stereotypically Asian males are believed to only date Asian women while White women are believed to only date White men.

6.) Asians in the entertainment industry

One major issue that many people refuse to acknowledge is the lack of Asian actors and actresses in movies. Between the years 1950-2009, Asians would get the same roles as everyone else. There were guys like Lane Nakano, Harold Sakata, Bruce Lee, Pat morita, Jackie Chan and Jet Li who starred in major roles. However, ever since Political correctness and other social movements started trending in 2010, many of the Asian actors and actresses have been overlooked.

Currently you'll rarely see a Asian actor or actress in a lead role. You'll see Caucasian, blacks and Hispanics in lead roles though. Whenever there's a Asian actor or actress in a movie, you'll usually see them in minor roles, or stereotypical roles.

Another reason while you'll rarely see Asians in movies is because of non Asians getting the roles of Asian characters or anachronisms. For example, "Ghost in a Shell" changed the original Japanese protagonist to a Caucasian protagonist. "The Great Wall" made the protagonists Caucasian when the movie took place in China.

However this is starting to change little by little since the TV Show "Into the badlands" features a Asian male lead, while Donnie Yen is getting a lead role in a new action movie called "American revenge" which was previously titled "noodle man". While Asians still have more success in sports such as Martial arts and sports entertainment such as professional wrestling than they do in movies. I think that soon Asians will soon find similar success in entertainment industry.

7.) First world Asians tend to get their accomplishments downplayed by the Politically correct

Everyone knows the different feminist movements, the Tuskegee airmen, the civil rights movement, Caesar Chavez because people talk about those subjects a lot. However, when it comes to the 442rct, or the Hawaii democratic revolution of 1954 not many people know about these two subjects because they are rarely talked about.

8.) K pop fashion gives the wrong impression of Asian men

A lot of people tend to assume every Asian male naturally looks like those kpop guys. The truth is that those Kpop guys usually use surgery and cosmetics to give themselves that feminine look. Most Asian males don't look like that. People forget about Asian guys like Sessue Hayakawa who was a very masculine man or Asian guys like Donnie Yen.

9.) Negative stereotypes about Asian women

There are a lot of Negative stereotypes about Asian men but there are also negative stereotypes about Asian women, such as bad looking bodies, submissiveness etc.

10.) Geography matters

Certain countries and cities treat Asians better than others. Here in the US, Asians are treated fairly like everyone else which is one of the many reasons why I like my country the good old USA. Maybe there are some bigots like the Neo nazis and SJWs that don't like Asians but their opinions mean nothing. In Western, Northern and parts of Eastern and Southern Europe Asians are treated with respect. In Australia, Asians are starting to get treated fairly. In Canada, Asians specifically Asian males still face subtle bigotry due to how dominant third wave feminism is. In Latin America, Asians get fair treatment.
