Isabel of Castile: The perfect queen (pt1)

Introduction

The reasons of me writing this MyTake is because a long time ago @OlderAndWiser questioned the rule of Spain under the Catholic Monarchs at the age of discovery. After he accused Fernando and Isabel of Castile of adjectives that usually leftists likes to use, I decided to write a MyTake to clarify that part of History and end this protestant bigotry against the Catholic Monarchs, specifically against Isabel, whom I discovered many interesting stories about her in my quick google research.

So here below it's my translated version of the MyTake I have written before (here in Spanish):

Isabel of Castile, the Catholic Monarch Queen

Portraited as a "demon" by some and "sanctified" by others, it's certain that the Catholic Queen was a queen that ruled Spain with iron fist and based her life in intelligence, culture and an fiery passionate faith. Her life dedicated mainly for the prayers and the reading of pious books ended in 1461, when she and her brother were moved to Segovia.

Works and Deeds

Her faith took her to conquer the last Moors(North African Muslims) reduct in the Iberian lands and completing the Reconquista. That is she made sure that the Iberian lands would not be Muslim anymore and she was not worried of being politically correct. She just casted the Muslims out of the Europe, and altogether some Jews in order to preserve Europe Christian. That means: no additional tax like jizya anymore, freedom to preach Christianity to all land, freedom to exercise your religion without fear, Christians are not 2nd class citizens anymore, no poligamy, etc.

Her intuition favored to Cristóbal Colón(Cristopher Columbus) ,an Italian explorer and navigator, who received her unconditional support to his enterprises. Thanks to her belief on that "crazy" Italian visionary we now have all the Americas colonized by a superior and civilized culture. The Republic of Genoa didn't believe in him, other Italian cities didn't believe in him too. But Isabel has a great vision and an open minded and saw how good that would be for Spain and for the Catholic Church in the whole. That basically have put the Spain as the pioneer in the Age of Discovery, making it the hugest Empire all over the world at that time, passing through India until East Asia like the Philippines.

Moral of Story

Even if you are an atheist, be happy with her, Europe could not be the way it is today.

Even if you are not Spanish(as I'm not) be happy with her, the Americas could not be the way it is today.

Even if you are a protestant, be happy with her, Western world could have already been Islamised 500 years ago.
