Asian girls are more insecure about their appearance, do you agree?

I was born and raised in UK, and currently live in Hong Kong.
I've noticed Asian girls are too insecure about their appearance that they don't take photos at all (like forever), or don't take picture with either their faces, or their bodies (which ever is prettier based on their perspectives) , so only face or only body in the photo. I found them really pretty and cute but still, they don't like their own appearance. they have very low self esteem, of course there are girls who love themselves and have high self esteem but majority of Asian girls aren't.

Do you think it is because most of girls here are skinny, that they are more consciously aware of their body types?

I wouldn't say all Asian girls are insecure about their appearances. I mean I for one am Asian and so are a lot of my friends and I have a few who are absolutely model material and others who are like me and are somewhat 'average'. I think it just depends. Sometimes its because we're actually shy so we don't want to embarrass ourselves taking selfies in public (although many Asians do this) and maybe its because of the surroundings. I get insecure when there are other girls who are skinnier and prettier, which I'm sure a lot of other girls go through I guess. I get where you're going because me and a lot of my friends I guess are insecure (and most of us are Asian) but I'm not sure if its just us Asians, I think a lot of other girls (and guys too) from many other races face this too :(

Ugh, I'm super insecure about my appearance. Here's the story, I'm adopted and was raised in the U. S., I did gymnastics and author outdoor activities and had to quit gymnastics because of my joints. So I ended up gaining weight, I'm not overweight just chubby, and having a really bad tan. I didn't mind the tan until I got into Japanese and Korean culture, even though I'm Chinese, but now my tan is my worst enemy. Since I'm still a high school student, I'm beginning to buy skin lightening products and going on a diet. I will say, my self esteem was high until I got into Asian beauty perspectives.

i dont agree. because all girls go through insecurities phrase.
and my friends many love taking pictures with themselves in it including my hong kong friends. perhaps are those u saw? we are conscious about our body types because in asia skinny is being viewed as desirable and we do take care of our bodies.

It's called acting with class dear, something a majority of Western women could learn a thing or two about.

There's nothing more unattractive and classless than a woman who takes selfies all day and everyday. Also Western women i. e. White women seem more insecure than most what with all of their "rate me 1-10" posts that they post on here.

I doubt what do they have to be insecure about? Why insecure. They are so cute like a doll. Very lovely. And petite is appealing. The best thing is that they grow so less body hair naturaly, being a fur beast myself i get jealous of them! Lol.

well i'm Asian and personally i'm insecure. i do not regularly upload photos on FB but i definitely have full shot pics. I'm insecure with my body and it's not really because i'm thin, it's because i look disproportionate. the upper part of my body is thin but the lower part is thick and the thinner i get, the discrepancy gets more obvious especially because i have small boobs. i've seen bikini models who are more or less have the same body type like me but they have big boobs even if it's fake. these girls for instance

i think they would look bad if they have small boobs. if i have big boobs then i don't have to worry to be really thin anymore. oh yeah i'm really insecure lol

I wasn't aware of that, i had some hong kong frieds at university that would always take selfies. In korea its very common for people to be focused on their appearance and take pictures

Yes, but girls all over are insecure about their appearance. Baised on personal experance a lot of Asians myself included try to aim for fair or light skin as opposed to where caucasians are looking for tan skin or sun kissed. Asians with darker skin can tend to be more insecure; along with those who dont have big eyes or sharper noses. Beauty differs between cualtures and races.
