Why am I considered a lightweight drinker?

Everyone tells me this and it's true I just don't understand why... does it have to do with size? I'm 5'2.

Your petite size means you have less blood in your system. Most men have about 12 pints while women have a bit less. The smaller your body mass, the less blood your body needs to refresh your living cells.

So if you are of diminutive stature, you probably will become intoxicated more quickly than a larger person. I suppose that leads people to classify you as a "lightweight" drinker.

A 'lightweight' refers to how much you can drink before you get drunk. My brother can drink a bottle or more of liquor, and I would get drunk after a shot or two. He is a heavyweight, and I am a lightweight.

it has to do with a variety of things.
size is definitely a factor, but so is how often you drink, how much food you ate that day, how tired you are, etc..

I have a cousin who's 4'9" and she handles brandy and scotch well. She drinks heavy stuff and doesn't get drunk.

But I think it has more to do with your metabolism than weight or size

how much do u weigh? if u r lightweight as well, then u have low tolerance to alcohol. check this chart:

if u weigh between 90-120 lbs then after 2 drinks u r considered legally intoxicated
