1. The Dove campaign is better in terms of the message is sends to society. However, in terms of profit and brand image, the Victoria's Secret campaign is more successful by keeping women feeling inadequate so they strive for an ideal image, and that ideal image is wearing a Victoria's Secret bra.
2. I prefer the body types in the Dove campaign.
3. Dove's campaign is less effective, if that's the debate. It's been proven that women are more likely to buy products that feature models that represent their ideal selves, rather than reality. Unfortunately, super skinny is ideal in their minds.
4. No, people are generally opinionated. Most of these opinions should be taken with a grain of salt.
5. Neither campaign has affected me, but it clearly shows that great marketing can take advantage of our psychological flaws as consumers. A rational, realistic approach doesn't always work, especially in fashion.
Victoria Secret is better. Why are people holding on to this concept of trying to convince the opposite sex that fat is sexy? For most people, fat is not attractive anymore. It's the harsh truth, but it's a harsh world.
