Humans are just the most effective. Humans show pity, while some do not the vast majority do. So you can't say ruthless. Every other predator is far more ruthless than humans. You're just food to them and they don't care. Humans think about what they're doing morally. Lions don't. Can't say cruel either, because we don't want to cause the animals we eat pain. We try to make it quick so as not to make them suffer. Other predators kill and only want it to be a quick kill so they don't have to work more than they have to. That's why they go for the slowest, easiest prey. No regard to the pain it feels. Humans are the most destructive tho in terms of capability, which again falls back on being the most effective. We're capable of more damage. But we weigh pros and cons, right and wrong. It's all a factor. For other animals it's a matter of, am I hungry? Yes or no? Emotions, empathy, compassion. None of that crosses their mind when it comes to the kill. That's why bears eat other bears. Mother bears eat their own bear cubs. Lions will eat their own children if not for the momma protecting them that has oxytocin which makes her far more attached to them.

Yes but no.
Humans have the choice of morals. Killing animals, killing other humans...
The rule of Nature is to kill only to prevent starvation or to defend oneself.
Humans have the choice to choose "Should I kill this person for cheating... lying... stealing... b/c I hate them... etc?"
Animals kill because "i'm hungry" or "My offspring/myself is about to be attacked by this predator." Animals do not have anything but those 2 reasons to kill. (Sharks accidentally kill humans because they think they're [the humans] are food.)
Humans make up/find excuses the kill other humans. (While I am a omnivore I do not like hunting for fun). I don't personally hunting (besides for population control) but I do go fishing, and when I do I always release them. There are other humans though who will kill animals outside of hunting season or just for a trophy.
So while we have these choices between morals and animals do not, we are not the most ruthless. But humans can also choose to be immoral, so we are the most ruthless.
I hope this makes any sort of sense.
8 out of 10 times I'd pick animals over people. Us humans have (and is still to his day) destroyed so much of nature and our planet. We need to step up and take better care of mother nature, animals and our fellow humans. Too often we're greedy and self-destructive in our actions
No. Humans are too nice/empathetic.
Reptilian humans, demons and hybrid non-humans are pure evil. Too bad most people are ignorant of their existence.

Humans can be pretty bad, but there are plenty of examples of animals killing for sport, including their own species. There are also lots of examples of humans not hurting each other, but we never hear about that. Instead we only focus on the bad. I don't think humans are more ruthless or cruel than animals, we are just better at it getting what we want, because we can plan, and plot and organize better than animals, as well as create massive forms of media that allow us to hear about every bad thing, every single person does.
Generally it's very likely, and Agent Smith was telling this to humans long time ago. :)

tvtropes.org/.../FoodChainOfEvilNo, lots of other species would be just as destructive, or even worse, if they had the means.
Just to give a few examples:
- dolphins have been observed to try to kill other dolphin's young for some sort of perverse pleasure
- chimpanzees have been observed to go on raiding parties where they kill any chimpanzee from another group that they come across
- foxes and cats torture and kill prey when they're not hungry
There's a lot more examples and I don't have high hopes that an ant colony that manages to conquer the world would be concerned about its environmental impact.Humans mainly kill for food or territory, the same as many other species. We do it on a wider scale because we have higher numbers and are spread all across the world. There are many animals that are just as destructive (some even more) as humans. But they are generally confined to smaller numbers or limited to certain parts of the world, so they don't seem as destructive.
I think the real issue you have is that humans are developed enough to move past this behaviour and do more to conserve the world we live in.
Unfortunately, getting 7 billion people to change their habits, especially if it means lowering the quality of their life, is going to take generations of teaching new habits.
I'm not saying give up, just don't expect too much too soon.We are the most destructive, but no more ruthless and cruel than most other animals, the only reason we are so devestating is because we have the means to be.
No other animal can produce weapons or consume oil or decimate forests like we do.
All animals are selfish by nature, we exist to better our own lives and reproduce.Destructive, yes. The most ruthless and cruel, not sure. The world is ruthless and cruel, it's survival of the fittest. Animals constantly fight over territory, food, mates, to reach the top of the pecking order, just like humans. The only difference is that humans are more intelligent and advanced so we do more damage. Animals can be destructive too if their number aren't controlled - I think the world is over-populated with humans.
Ants have humans beat by miles. There are ants that literally wage war upon and exterminate millions of lives just because they can. There are ants that make slaves of other ants and then kill them and eat them as necessary. There are ants that burrow into other animals just to eat them alive despite having plenty to eat elsewhere. Ants are not defensive little buggers trying to just live peacefully at all. If nothing else to be said humans are nowhere near as fiercely territorial or as bent on conquering as ants are.

I think (or possibly hope?) that things can only get better than what they are now. But part of me is glad I won't live forever, because I'm not really sure if I want to take the risk of being around to find out if I'm right :pWe can't live sustainably. The only species ever that can't live in harmony with nature. We're agents of our own destruction. All for the sake of power and greed. I know your thinking thats only the pricks in charge do that but would you be the same if you had their opportunities? I probably would. Thats the sad fact. We're all arseholes
Animals only kill to survive? Really?
Simple example: meerkats have pecking orders. If a lower ranking female meerkat has babies, the queen will kill the babies, and either exile the mother to die alone, or force her to nurse the queen's infants until the lower female dies from the strain.have you are killed, looted or raped? most people haven't
People aren't dangerous, they are dangerous when they are controlled.
Controlled by destructive ideologies
It just so happens that many of these corrosive ideologies have been programmed into us since childhoodActually animals kill for fun too. But yeah, to be considered cruel you need some awareness of what you are doing. Bacteria and viruses may be evil, but they are just doing what they do. Same with insects and nematodes - that parasitic worm may be disgusting but it is just keeping it's species going.
Not with Chimpanzees and Baboons on this planet,
We are also not the only animal that kills for fun either,
Another would be the housecatI disagree. What separates us from the other animals isn't our morality it's our power. More power means more influence, good or bad. A mildly bad king can destroy more than a murderous peasant.
Pretty much, voted A.
"It's in your nature to destroy yourselves."
Humans often can and will sell each other out for their very own personal profit, gain, interest, or even safety. There is no "Morality" in Nature. Listen to George for some similar thoughts
https://youtu.be/3Djohakx_FEYep. We're the worst. Some are worse than others though.
And monkeys come in close second. Have you seen them kidnapping and killing eachothers kids? It's fucking brutal! You can really tell we're related.we are the worse species. to borneo a quote from a movie I've seen, mankind should stop reproducing, we should walk hand in hand to extinction.
Yes we are. We have proven time and again we have no problem slaughtering to extinction anything including fellow humans
"Waaaah, I'm a bleeding heart."
Animals torture and kill each other too. Cry me a river.
