Does this picture sum up young men back then and today now?
😂😂😂
Comparing a generation that's under War to a generation that's under Peace is an ineffective comparison.
Back in 1944 the world was in a major War and the US and it's citizens were compelled to fight out of retribution for Pearl Harbor. The same thing happen after 9/11. When it became apparent that terrorists were behind 9/11; the military, CIA and FBI all saw huge increase in applications and enrollment especially from young people.
Moral of the story is that the current generation is not weaker then the previous generation (the current gen is a lot more intelligent though). It's just that they have the benefit of growing up through an era of peace. However, if the US was ever attacked, I assure you, you'll see many young people out on the battlefield.
solid answer.
How I see the old picture is men risking their lives for greed and power, not to "protect their country" as they think it is what they are doing, they're just pawns on a chess table.
Even the recent war in the 80s against Argentina in Falkland Islands, young British men risked their lives for what? Keep the Falkland islands for the resources - Oil, which = Money.
So so sad. How on earth is that even a good thing?
War isn't masculine, war is just sad and stupid and not anything to be proud of and its certainly NOTHING to be proud of to be called a war hero, god no. "Protecting my country", hah my ass.
Secondly both men and women need to develop thicker skin and not be so butt hurt by words and stop listening to bullshit that can easily be ignored.
This picture is making fun of depression...
We live in a world where physical illness is treated like it should and person is taken care of while mental illness is made fun of like this. Men suffered from depression in 1944 too it's just that despite this picture things have changed for the better, they can be more open about their illness and get treated.
There are still wars going on presently, and unfortunately many men do have to go through that even now. Quite sad actually, and not something to feel pride over
Yes and no. There are still good men joining up at age 18 to go and die for those thankless creeps. I married an old fashioned guy who has lost his best friend in Afghanistan and he works 12 hour days, 6 days a week, but he is abnormal.
But there ARE guys who don't need a safe space from words haha
but tbh i don't mind if his hair is colored an unnatural color if he can hold his own, haha!

Yeah western men are pretty weak nowadays. They got so weak they are even scared of wanna be gangster who walk around with their pants around their ass lol. They would've got stomped has they tried that shit back then. Oh well, thanks feminis. Just look at Europe, the women get raped and the men just party and not care. A French women called her countrymen cowards because they didn't do anything. Oh well, I hope black and Latin and Asian guys are as tough as they think they are because they are the only guys willing to do anything anymore.
No, and I always hated this retarded notion.
If you think it's manly to end up crippled, physically and emotionally for fighting a war you never agreed to or to keep waking up in terror and reaching for your shotgun because your PTSD triggers you each time you hear a louder noise.
Then please go ahead and enroll into the military, hopefully one day you will enjoy the masculine "entertainment" of your brain turning into an emotional goop and making you psychologically unfit to function for a couple weeks when you get a bunch of torn legs fall onto your head while getting bombarded in the trenches.
Need directions to your "safe space?" lol... 😂
@BlazeRider_ Need directions to being a fucking retard who thinks joking about war is funny?
@Scrimshaw Ice? Naah, I'd like popcorn, to watch you little ungrateful "manly" kiddies be the first ones to shit your pants the moment bullets start flying in your general direction.
No. A man's outer strength and courage doesn't mean he doesn't get his feelings hurt. As you're probably aware, in those older times men weren't really supposed to express any of their feelings. Repressed feelings can hurt a lot. Words do hurt. Men do need a safe place. But that doesn't invalidate their strength.
If a guy needs a so called "safe space" then he's just a pussy. Lmao at the women getting angry over this here 😂
@Kuraj I can see you got butthurt and then you block me, fuckin' pussy ass bitch 😂😂
@BlazeRider_ I didn't block you because I got "butthurt".
I blocked you because you are a retard who thinks that war is a goddamn joke, and frankly I have more respect for dog shit stuck to the bottom of my shoe than I have for somebody who would think that.
@Kuraj Yep, you are definitely butthurt, just read the definition of it. You only proved it to me once again when you decided to block me and then unblock me just to respond, because that's how much you're worried about what people say about you! Damn you're one fragile ass bitch.. 😂
@BlazeRider_ I replied to you because I was worried that the only words in your vocabulary are "ass bitch", which unfortunately appears to be the case and it doesn't surprise me in the least.
But I know it's not your fault bro, what can you do when the only things mommy taught you was that and how to have no respect for the country you parasitize on, right? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
"Too gentle of a man is not a man." If a guy is just waaay too fucking emotional that only shows how immature he is and can't get his shit together.
Sad how none of these young women here understand 😂
Just saying my take. None of these pics sums up men.
That's a very effective juxtaposition. When those American heroes stormed the beaches at Normandy on D-Day there were no "safe spaces." You nailed it.
Yeah, the words do hurt stuff and getting offended really quickly is ridiculous
Men don't need to risk their lives to prove masculinity.
I think what the picture means is that men had it much harder than those easily offended pussywhipped "men" you get nowadays 😂
@BlazeRider_ I understand but I do not agree. I'm sorry for the ones who had to fight in wars and I'm happy most men don't need to do so anymore. Also I think it's great that nowadays men are able to show their emotions without being judged (most of the time)
Sure there are lots of teenagers who are overly dramatic but they'll eventually grow up
Yeah... you can say that and the next thing you will do is take a sip out of your "male tears" mug 😉
@BlazeRider_ I'm not enjoying people's sadness, I prefer tea, thank you.
Nope and it's stupid to think so, half of those guys in war didn't even want to be there they were dragged there because of the draft, and they were pretty much all inexperienced kids just like the bottom two. people who make pictures like this saying it was better back then have to be really fucking stupid
Yeah, feminization of society has turned even generally straight men kinda flaming.
Fucking irritating and makes me really want to kick ass.
How are boys who were drafted and made to fight comparable to boys expressing themselves?
What a load of shit you know you are a young man as well.
seems like the anti PC people are becoming just as bad as the PC people
Yes. The world is full of wimps now, you can thank feminism for that.
maybe an over-generalization, but still reflects society as a whole
what if i told you, that those soldiers who were forced to be at war were not a single bit "harder" (psychologically) than the guys in the bottom?
Many at Normandy had volunteered. They made the choice to go before the war came to their own country. Canadians and Americans alike fighting here, plenty made the choice. They weren't psychologically harder, they were still afraid but they put it all on the line to save France from Nazi Germany. I don't think nearly as much of my generation has the selflessness to do this. They would dodge the draft and flee. I am amazed by the bravery of men (and women) who serve in all countries.
@drakeondegrassi that´s true but you really adapt to the situation needed. if your country and your people isn´t in danger, you don´t need to be harder... people back than dodged the draft too. as it would be today but there are soldiers nowaday too and they have the same mindset... if your country is overrun and there´s just no choice for you but to fight the intruders, then you will simply do that. no matter if you´re a bitch or not.
Most of my generation can't even hold a job, so to even hold a gun in their defense. They're afraid of guns just being legal.
If my nation was overrun I would bet that these weak, cry babies would sit down and surrender. The other half would be just as ready to fight as anyone before them. I've been in emergency situations and people just pull out their phones and start recording instead of doing anything so others have to pick up the slack.
@drakeondegrassi believe me, people behave differently, when they are forced to be in a certain situation. recording on the phone can be quite important, cause we live in a state where there are laws and video evidence is the best evidence in court.
in war it´s different and people will either realize this and act accordingly or die. this is how it´s always been.
So when someone has been hit a by train and is bleeding to death, 8 of the 10 college students did the right thing videoing and snapchatting it? (Which I actually witnessed and had to shield the person from seeing that people were just filming her)
If you're too worried about your own skin and a potential lawsuit to step in, do the right thing, and help someone, then you are lumped in with chumps who are getting weaker. People ARE dying for less than war here. Dying trying to take stupid pictures for instagram and youtube, so I'm confident these people aren't cutout for war.
@drakeondegrassi dude i don´t know xD i never experienced this. i only know that a severe lack of civil courage has ben recorded decades before. i know it is an issue.
how did that situation turn out? did she survive after all?
Yeah, yeah I am with you on that.
She did, it turned out the train had completely sliced off both of her biceps and all her shoulder muscle and she was bleeding out but she did end up living! But she was terrified and severely injured and people were just recording and like standing back talking about it. She was like crying for help too. Something like this also happened to some boys from my high school! They stopped at a car accident scene that people were taking pictures of and they realized the lady was still trapped in a burning car, and screaming for help! They tried to help her but she ended up dying from her injuries.

@drakeondegrassi lots of people feel like they are not qualified to help and that they wold actually make things worse. but i think this "taking photos" in this particular situation is totally unacceptable...
Yeah. I know it's scary to think you might do the wrong thing, but if it were me I would want people to hold my hand and do what they could! So sad. :(
@drakeondegrassi yeah but it´s complicated especially with group dynamics. people who take the iniciative and actually do stuff in a group of people are rare to find. it has always been like that.
Yes and no, you see plenty of stories where people work together to flip over a car or pull someone out of river, too. Only we are responsible for our actions and I don't want to be a helpless bystander. Which is why if I think I need to do something, I act, even if it's a little as helping an old man carry a 12 pack of soda out to his car. That way I can be ready to act when it comes down to the wire!
Not trying to say I'm like superior being here either, I just couldn't live with myself if I could have helped someone and didn't try. I think everyone should aim to help.
@drakeondegrassi i don´t think that there were more people like that back then though.
I do, they weren't afraid of someone suing them after they saved their life.
@drakeondegrassi i can´t prove you wrong but i just am against that "it was better back then" attitude, which is usually not the case.
I'm saying people were helpful and selfless because society pressure them to be, not that it was better to live then!
@drakeondegrassi i don´t think there´s less social pressure to help now. people just ignore it.
Actually, couldn't have said it better. I don't think they should ignore it, but they do.
Thats making fun of depression and that's not funny. People die from depression dude.
My brother killed himself due to depression
Depression is a real chemical imbalance in the body. Nobody is saying people who commit suicide are weak or that it's funny.
There's a difference between a chemical/ hormonal imbalance in the body and crying because someone assumed your gender.
i mean war isn't something to be proud of too but neither is being panzy
the left guy in second meme looks like benedict cumberbatch lol
Before real men was real now it's a dream only we can see on tv...
Times change. Get over it.
You like overly sensitive and effeminate guys, do you?
@BlazeRider_ Now, where did I say that? And besides, who cares? What does it matter if a guy shows emotion? People need to get it through their head just what @Heera said: "Men don't need to risk their lives to prove masculinity."
