Do you agree everyone can be racist, not just white people?

Question

All of my hispanic compatriots including me were completely outraged when Trump called us rapists, criminals, and drug dealers. We were all enraged, "What an evil bigoted fascist! What is this insanity?"

Then when he unveiled his plan to ban muslims my fellow hispanics were like "Trump is right, these muslims are terrorists and rapists, they don't belong here." I couldn't make this up if I tried lol. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, even if hispanics were all bigots you'd think at least they'd feel some empathy with other maligned groups cause they were suffering the same... Nope. Even my own effing parents. I even saw a national poll on twitter (though I have no proof of its veracity) which showed more hispanics agree with the muslim ban then whites.

Point is, I keep hearing liberals saying whites are the source of all racism and bigotry in the world. That's not true at all. Everyone, and I mean everyone, regardless of their background, can either be a bigot or a liberal. End of statement.

That depends on how you use racism.

Most of us use racism as a word that means prejudice based on skin color or ethnicity.

That is not how the word is being used by those who say 'only whites are racist'. They are using a different definition, popular in sociology departments and associated 'studies' departments. Those take a more adapted Marxist approach.

Traditional Marxism viewed everything as a class struggle.

Marxist influenced feminism, rather than simply seeing women as disadvantaged, identified the enemy as 'patriarchy' which they see as a -system- that oppressed women for the benefit of men. They may say that only men are 'sexist' because they view sexism not as a personal, but rather a political, societal element. Since the patriarchy oppressed women, not men, 'sexism' as a system oppresses women. This might be news to the millions of young men 'the system' sent off to fight its wars, but I digress...

Similarly, many academics like to identify 'racism' not as a personal set of beliefs that may be carried by some groups, but rather as a system of oppression. They may say that U. S. culture is designed to hold black people down for the benefit of whites, for instance. So 'racism' to them is support of this system. Since racism targets blacks, anti white views are not 'racist'. In fact, they would say that black people can be racist, only to the extent the are anti-black and support this system. These academics have some fancy way of fitting in Hispanics I can't remember. They normally declare Asians to be token whites most of the time for reasons I can't recall.

Anyway, while I happen do not take a Marxist style view of the world, it no longer drives me nuts when people say 'only white people are racist'. What they mean is actually not that only white people are bigoted. They mean that only certain types of bigotry are systematic.

Oh yea whites just have that rep because everyone just wants to put us down to make them feel better about their race. So it seems. I've witnessed racists if every race. It is human nature to try and overtake our competition. I find it pointless and hurtful to our relations, so I'd rather it be as if they were never born..

Yes, everyone can be racist but when it comes to the group of people who have been and somehow still are the most racially problematic and troublesome for various ethnicities/races; it's white people. This is an honest truth that a lot of white people cannot handle and want to overlook. If you ask a group of people from all races who have lived in America or visited for a long period of time, which group of people they have had a racist, prejudiced encounter with, their answer is not going to be blacks or Hispanics. So yes, everyone can be racist, but the reality is that just about any minority can tell you at least one to two stories where they had a downright racist encounter with a white person and after all this time, that's a problem that needs to finally be fixed.

Trump didn't call all hispanics rapists. He was specifically referring to illegal immigrants entering the US. The logic was, illegal immigrants are fleeing from something they did in their own country (like theft or rape) and bring that problem to the US.

He never said that all hispanics, or legally immigrated hispanics were all rapists. But yeah, he's kind of a dick.

I think they realized that Trump is right. By the way, he was talking about some illegals that cross the border and a temporary ban until we figure out what the hell is going on.
