Why did he send me a friend request after he rejected me?

I liked a guy a lot but I barely know him. My ex-best friend kind of backstabbed me (yeah, she was a b*tch) and told this guy that I liked him a lot.

So, the rumors spread and I didn't know how to approach him and get to know whether he liked me or not.

Then, my guy friend went and asked him whether he likes me or not (I don't know why he did that). He rejected me saying that I seem good to him but he also made up all kinds of excuses that he is gonna change schools and etcetera.

Anyways I was still just confused and couldn't get him out of my head. And I used to notice him staring at me continuously.

And now, when he sent me a friend request on Facebook, I was like whattt? *confused*

I accepted it because I wanted to talk to him, but he barely seems online.

I don't know what to think now. Why is he doing this? T^T

Please give me some advice...!

sounds to me like he's wants to keep you close until he heals..even though from my stand point I can see two sides. he should be mad for hearing about something so deep from other people before you. but also he shouldn't take it so hard but I'm sure he's working out a way to talk to you. cause its gonna be awkward to him now cause he knows. but you can help him with that let him know:)

but I don't know if he was telling the truth when he said he's gonna change school. if that happens, I'm never gonna see him as my school starts from July now. :(
