I've never heard that. That's weird. Whenever I know someone will be taking a trip(whether it be by plane car or bus)I always wish them a safe trip.
If someone got offended by that, I'd tell them F off from then on, then they will have a reason to be offended.
Wow I've never heard of that. I personally don't mind someone wishing me a safe flight, its thoughtful.
They need to get a grip. You're just being polite - same as saying "Bless you" when someone sneezes, even if neither of you believe in God.
I've never heard that, weird. I view it as the same as wishing someone a safe trip. It's short for "I hope you have a safe flight/trip."

Today planes are extremely safe, elevators are more dangerous.
I see it as just a polite expression, you certainly rather hear that than nothing at all.
I'm OK with that.
Just a reminder people want to get ON the plane, I always tell them that's a bad idea get IN the plane.
I think it's ridiculous for someone to be offended by that.
Every well-wish is suddenly invalidated.
nobody's in control of another person's happiness, so wishing a happy birthday is bad too?
Are we really all butthurt over things like this? It's just a general well wish for safe travels. I don't see anything wrong with being wished or wishing someone a safe flight. I mean to me that sounds like such a ludicrous thing to be offended over.
