How do I quit my job like a BOSS!

Question

i work at banana republic and I hate my job and I'm gonna quit as soon as I have a new one.

so I was thinking of maybe writing "i quit" on the BACK of a t shirt. that way when I come in my manager will be like "you can't wear a t shirt, and I'll say I know" and turn around and walk out with my arms up.

When I was 16 I worked for this horrible family. The father was verbally abusive to me without any reason other than being nasty, his wife and children also helped make my job a living hell. It was so bad that I even had CUSTOMERS come up to me and be sympathetic about my situation (e.g. 'Hang in there, you'll find another job.')

So when I finally found another job, I collected my last pay check and did not show up again. I ignored their phone calls for about five days until I decided to take it. It was one of the best feelings of my life to tell that a**hole that I had found another job and I wasn't coming back. Lol, he was so shocked and bewildered that the line was silent for a few minutes before I hung up :)

If you hate it and don't need the reference, be creative. Part of the reason I did it the way I did was to allow my pay to clear in my bank and to also screw them up with regards to staffing levels.

HONESTLY,I don't think that is a good idea.You may not care,but you may need you boss as a reference for a future job.You do know that your future employer will check where you have worked.Doing something of this nature is highly unprofessional,and it may just come back and bite you in the arse.Yeah working retail sucks,but leaving on a good note speaks of your character as well as work ethic.Good luck.

...BUT of course in real life...just give a 15 days notice to your boss and then quit, for those 2 weeks lookout for another job,decide your priorities as to what is the kind of job you want to do next, what you expect out of it etc...above all make sure you get paid for those 15 days too, don't leave like just trying to escape from the scene.

that's good but that's not boss, when I lived in Toronto I was on the highway and on one of the overhead boards that was supposed to tell you the road conditions ahead it said " I just quit my job today cause my boss is a d***, so don't expect any help". Now that's a bausss

There may come a time when you might need a reference. You need to look into that aspect. Besides, ignore your impulse. Work hard. Get rich. And buy them out. But that's not usually how life goes by. Sometimes life takes a nasty turn and a reference does help. You might meet some people who you hate or you might hate a job in the future. Doesn't mean you act like that every time you hate a job. Words spread around a lot and people might not want to hire you when they learn about what you did.

Honestly, whilst that's a really cool idea to entertain, you need these people to be reliable for a good reference in the future. Do that, and you ruin those chances. Just give them notice and leave without a fuss. It sucks, but that's how it needs to be.

Pick THE busiest day of the week and walk up to your boss and say "Yeah I'm gonna need you to cover my shift today." Say it in a sarcastic tone like your about to be funny or tell a joke so that he will think that's exactly what you meant, then when he asks why, say something like "Because I going to club to celebrate my new job!"

Just tell them shove it, and then when your looking for another job, and they go OK well we're going to call you previous employer, then you might think twice about not putting in that two week notice.

Another way you can quit is to wait until they have few staff members, and they are real busy and then start walking towards the front door.

When the manager tries to call you back...say, "I didn't tell you? I quit."
