LADIES (and guys?) How do you poop around your boyfriend?

Ok ladies, it's time I speak up, I can't be the only one who has this problem. Show some solidarity, and let me know I'm not alone. Or, make fun of me mercilessly. Whichever.

See, I have a pooping problem. No, it's not medical. It's completely psycholigical. Some women can't poop in public restrooms. Some can't unless they know no one else is around. Still others can ONLY poop in their own bathrooms. I've never had a problem with this. No, my issue? I can't poop around my boyfriend.

No joke, He and I have been dating for somewhere around a year (if you count our "previous relationship" as he refered to it this weekend) and I still can not bring myself to poop at his place. This poses quite a problem when I stay at his place for say, the entire weekend, as I did the last two days. I mean, two days without pooping?! That's just downright unhealthy!

And it makes absolutely no sense. Everyone Poops! It's not like it would come as a big shock to him that I have certain biological needs!

And it's not like I haven't been completely gross in front of him. I'll burb, get food all over my face while scarfing down some delicuosly bad for me food, hell we spent all weekend doing yard work that left me sweaty, covered in dirt, and smelling completely foul. And yet, still no poop.

Seriously, ladies, help me out here, what the HELL is my problem and how do you deal with it?!?

i don't do that around anyone. I only do it in the library because the bathrooms are clean and they have to clean them from other people anyways. and I'm there for hours daily. I don't sit though.

i don't use my bathroom to do it in my bathroom because its an appartment. the space is too small..itd be like sh*tting in your living room. or bed room or kitchen.

I NEVER do it at anyones house. ever. idont care if pple know I do. obviously I do. I just don't like doing it around anyone, or in my place. I don't like to be reminded of it.

I don't know. I have no problem with it. I mean, granted, he's not in the bathroom with me, but if we're watching a movie I simply say, "I'll be right back. I have to use your bathroom." And then I go, do my business, flush it away, wash my hands, and then resume movie watching.

You might just need to psychologically separate the bathroom from the rest of the house. No idea how you do that...you just do.

I wish girls would do it at my place. I don't want them wanting to go home just because they need to go. I would rather them go at my place and come back to bed or the couch instead of go home to do their bidness.

I don't care if it loud or smelly. I have speakers in my bathroom they can turn it up and use fan and some air freshener.

The sooner they go at my place the sooner they can get over it and it won't be a 'thing.'

Besides having to go can get in the way of settling in and relaxing.

You just need to get used to it. The next time nature calls, just go and pinch-off a big steamer on the kitchen counter and leave it there for your boyfriend to find. After that, get creative and think of different places to drop loaves and wait for him to come across them. You'll both grow much closer.

I think it has to do with how self conscious you are with your own poop.,
Everyone poops, yes, but poops come in as many different color, shape, size, speed, odor, farts, grunting; as people do..

So, in the end, it becomes a matter of deciding whether you are OK with your significant other noticing these aspects of your poop, or perhaps there’s something that makes you feel uncomfortable or ashamed, which is therefore preventing you from pooping comfortably in front of your SO.

I'll talk about my own experience in the subject to illustrate this.
I’ve always been a bit standoffish, but I wouldn’t say I’m shy, definitely an introvert, but not to the point where you can’t have significant social interaction.

I’d probably have had any problem pooping in front of my SO if I wasn’t self-conscious of my poops, and although not at first not apparent, I was educated in my dogma of “girls don’t poop.”
The thing is, I was self-conscious. It was difficult for me to set my mind elsewhere when the idea of my boyfriend watching me and everything that happens when you poop. This includes any funny faces or sounds that might come from your effort. This, however, wasn’t my biggest concern.
I’ve eaten a plant-based diet, with a particular focus on maintaining a healthy microbiome, as my life has drastically changed ever since I started on this. Benefits are multiple, and I’ve experienced them: lower blood pressure, lower glucose levels, a lower carbon footprint, weight loss, and, last but not least, excellent digestive health.
Part of eating a plant-based diet, with a large daily fiber intake, is poop regularly. And, to put it bluntly, taking the most ridiculously long bowel movements. Nowadays, I don’t get surprised too much. Still, when I started this diet, especially initially, I’d be astonished at the sheer size I was able to push out in a single unbroken turd.
Back to the topic of pooping with company: you can see why I was at first reluctant to move my bowels in front of my boyfriend. After I closed the bathroom door during the first two years, my boyfriend wanted to know if there was a specific reason why I’d be so private when using the toilet if we shared just about everything else in life.
My boyfriend, I suspect, had an idea because when I tried to justify myself by saying I was just “shy when pooping in front of others,” he didn’t bite the bullet and asked me directly if I was ashamed of the idea of him looking at the toilet contents.
I finally had to admit it and embrace the idea. No one ever forced me to poop with the company, but I felt relieved when my boyfriend found out.
Nowadays, once in a while when we need to share the bathroom, and I’m using the toilet, aside from a few comments such as “that’s the most giant crap I’ve ever seen “ or (boyfriend clapping in admiration), or simply “WTF, are you OK?
Nowadays, I am much more, if not completely comfortable pooping by my SO side..
I hope this helps you at least to know there are ways to do it whatever your circumstances are.

Fart in front of him and say something like “oof, I feel ten pounds lighter after that one” or “that smelled a lot better when I ate it.” Those have been my icebreakers when I’ve first farted in front of my boyfriends in the past. Eventually I got to the point where I could just be chilling on the couch with him, and I’d tilt my ass up and rip a huge fart, then put my fist up to my mouth and belch, and neither of us would comment on it because it simply wasn’t out of the ordinary. I often take a shit while he’s in the bathroom, when he’s brushing his teeth for instance, and I make sure to burp and fart loudly while I’m taking a dump as well for a few reasons. It keeps my sense of humor light, it desensitizes me to letting loose around him, and it makes him laugh. If you want to make the transition quickly, you need to burp in front of him more than you already do, start farting in front of him if you don’t already, and make jokes about it.

The easier way is telling him “I gotta take a shit” or “I need to take a dump” next time you leave to take a shit. That will get you into a more casual mindset about pooping around him. It’ll take longer for you to get comfortable though if you take this approach instead of ripping off the bandaid by loudly farting in front of him.

One of the best ways to deal with defecating and farting, etc is to eat a lot of spinach and greens, etc the day before you spend the night together. Spinach will purify your intestinal tract so that when you do have to go, it will hardly smell at all.

Personally I don't think it is a big deal. Actually a sign of how comfortable you are with the other person. Something a couple can do around / in front of each other that they probably wouldn't feel comfortable doing with anyone else.
