Why do some men try to impress girls with their money?

Is it because they're nervous, have self esteem or think that woman is a whore?

I go to college near silicon valley and well aside from students there are a lot of very wealthy people here.

I recently went out with this guy, who was very clearly one of them. He would constantly talk about all the stuff he has, the car he drives, the boat he bought, the new special computer he got, the house he wants to buy... And I don't even know anything about cars, boats, computers or well houses

Idk, I haven't dated a lot, but that's not normal, right? Why would he do that. Does he feel he has nothing else to offer? Or does he think that's all I want from him? Or did he just not know what else to talk bout?

I certainly felt he was nervous, kinda like the typical computer nerd, but in a good way. Would that have something to do with it?

Money equals financial stability, an aspect that women through social evolution have valued as important. Women need financial stability, which infers that their offspring will be raised in a good environment. Anyway, money is also equivalent to power. The more money you have, the more power you will have.

You go to a school were there's lots of rich people, the women there are used to seeing guys with money and besides most women find rich guys attractive, and since I'm not rich I'm not attractive.

No I don't think women are whores unless they try to be? I'm assuming the only reason why women would date me is because of my income? I'm not good looking so it would be my last hope I assume.

probably because women go for it practically every time. Women are attracted to resources and the guys that have lots of them get the most women

I've heard and seen plenty of examples of this working. Doesn't work for every girl, but doesn't need to. So long as it works for lots of girls (and it does) guys will still do it.

Look at it another way. If it never worked, you wouldn't see a lot of guys doing it.
