Every four years it comes around and takes over your TV. No, I'm not talking about the election, I'm talking about The Olympics. The Olympics showcase competition with athletes from various nations trying to take home the gold. But, what if the Olymics decided to try out some non-athletic events? Here are four Olympic events that should be considered.
Soda Drinking Contest
Which country has the best soda drinkers? We could find out with an Olympic soda drinking competition. Competing athletes would see who can drink the biggest amount of soda in the shortest amount of time. It would be nice to see who brings home the gold in that one.
Chess
This international battle of wits has spawned some amazing stars over the years such as Gary Kasparov and Bobby Fischer. The Olympics could feature chess to determine the next great chess players in our world.
Mini Golf
Who doesn't love mini golfing? it's fun and wacky, Plus its always exciting to get a hole in one or to clear that windmill. The Olympics need to include this for fun. Please make this happen!!!
Laser tag
This would be freaking awesome!!!!! Imagine two opposing nations settling it all out in a laser tag arena! The laser guns zapping, the adrenaline pumping through the veins of the competitors. The sound of the pew pew pew of the lasers.

Bowling
Wing eating contest
Slamball
Air Hockey
Auto racing
Go Kart races
Video gaming
Breakdancing
Flash mobbing
Baking competition
and even a Rodeo.
So the Olympics can have something for everyone!
Plus it might be awesome if the Olympic theme was preformed by a badass rock band with sweet guitar skills.
Fun Non-Athletic Competitions That Should Be In the Olympics
@EnglishArtsteacher Soda isn't good for you either, now that I think about it any kind of drinking contest seems bad. Since even with a water drinking contest that could be dangerous.
@Mustachekitteh You can overdose on anything (Obviously), but it's easier to overdose on alcohol than it is to overdose on caffeine (soda), water, etc.
@Smmyskittles That's what I was thinking with a drinking contest. Use something with a low alcohol % and it's just to see how fast someone can drink it.
I would like to watch laser tag in the olympics because that would be fun to watch. I can only imagine that the competitors, for the soda drinking contest, will be very obese by the time they are in the olympics. I would be afraid to watch one of them have a heart attack.
Haha, yea, seeing break dancing, bowling, chess, those would be fun. Tennis is already an event (but I always miss it-did you hear about Serena and Venus though-they didn't get gold)
You know how we have the Summer Olympics and Winter Olympics? We should have a 3rd Olympics with things that are competitive but focuses on fun like Laser tag or Mini golf.

It's fun how hard and competitive it is. Fun TV shows and variety shows are everywhere, the Olympics are different thing, and that's what making it special.
