Dave Chappelle is Back!

So most of us have seen his SNL guest host and that was fine and appropriate but nothing too groundbreaking just seemed like old Chappelle.

But his Netflix special proves that he's back, he's relevant and it's a different act.

Chappelle famously quit his hot show and breached a $50M contract in 2005 over ethical issues and the direction of the show to head for some space in Kenya.

It was rumored by the gossip columns columns he had drug or mental issues and it wasn't truly over ethical issues. What kind of ethical person would walk away from $50M?

He always saw himself more as stand up than in the entertainment community and had a dislike for it. Well, after 10 years away Chappelle is back and he isn't just speaking on black issues. He speaks on gender issues and his timing between bits is flawless like he never left the stage.

Since a teenager he's been an excellent performer even if you don't like the content he could own a stage. Now in his 40's he has perspective, he has a voice and but his comedy still is driven by the same catalyst as ever- rejection of the status quo.

CHANGE.

He doesn't need the money. It isn't opportunistic taking advantage of the times. He just can't sit and not comment.

I don't like his transgender remarks at all especially there some evidence that lately each week in America a transgender is getting murdered and mainstream media doesn't even report it or care for it. Then he thinks its ok to make the remarks he made.

@TaylorSpliff Does it matter? this year transgenders are getting a ton of shit and are putting in danger and no one really seems to care or help them that much in America. Then it's a laughing joke the barriers they have in the Olympics.

Funny how people say its unfair for any transgender to be part of the Olympics and don't think that's isn't fuck up thinking. Especially since there are a lot of women who can fight and defend themselves from men but oh female athletes can't even win against a transgender.

If you hear only the clip of the joke I could maybe see why you would think that but he leads you in to his position on transgender artfully. He pokes fun at the Q in LGBTQ but then says the T is the one that he's really scared for and deserves attention.

Then he walks it back with Bruce Jenner and finally surmises the copsnare just to scared to approach a transgender because the topic is to hot to get mixed up in. One wrong move could cost them their job in LA.

He's playing devil's advocate on most occasions fbthese socially left issues throughout the act which means giving two different perspectives on the same thing to see the holes in one or both sides.

He isn't always speaking from his prerogative but from his view on people's reactions or lack there of a reaction on social issues.

It's better than his popular white v black comedy from the 2000's.

Can female athletes win against transgenders? I honestly don't know the answer.

Yup I did hear that clip and I didn't laugh at it. I'm just getting tired of the attention whoring these American comedians are doing then wonder why people are getting mad. Like George Lopez for the whole "Latinos don't want blacks dating their kids" then has the nerve to get mad at an black women for taken offense. Then targets her weight. Since he thinks its funny that most groups don't like black people and don't want black people dating their kids but I bet any money he would get mad about wetback Mexicans and illegal alien jokes.

Name one comedian that doesn't do that? Every comedian pokes fun at everyone and every issue. If you don't like it, that is fine. Jokes aren't funny to everyone.

As for the missing Bruce Jenner comment that's real. You see it on the faces of everyone of her kids. You're young but it's hard to just pretend a parent didn't or doesn't exist anymore.

I'm so pro trans but at that age with young kids there need to be counseling. Khloe was honestly and genuinely upset for months if not a year because she wasn't included enough and allowed to say goodbye. Her own Dad passed away and Bruce was her new Dad and now she is losing him too. The whole Jenner thing is a unique case.

Ideally we are helping people transition at or before adolescents. We know before puberty who we are.

Ideally babies with ambiguous genitalia won't be forced assigned.

I get your outrage in general but don't think it should be directed at Chappelle.

Trust me the mindful left is very aware of transgender issues and it isn't being ignored. Bathroom issues, passports, birth certificates. You aren't unheard and it is the voice I'm hearing the loudest.

My only pause from that is when legal immigrants are being unlawfully detained at airports or other holding stations.

The big thing I took away from Chappelle is that he was actually admitting for the first time that here was a group of people more hated on a repressed than the blacks and that is the transgender.

People are comfortable with gay but not transgender so now we are working on that. Transgender is the new enemy we must protect.

You're young so I know it feels unfair that gay is accepted and other things aren't. But know 40% of society is with you and working to change things. We'll get there.

My point is if you don't like the joke, don't go to their shows or watch their specials... You can't get offended on behalf of other someone else.

@TaylorSpliff I don't even do that so don't tell me what to do. But again like I said people have every right to make an opinion on a comedian's comedy act. I love how people get offended that people make opinions on a celebrity actions or words. If you can tell me not to go to their shows then who are you tell me to what to think? why do you think your allow to make an opinion on my comment but I can't do that on Chappelle?
