Why are women such wannabes/followers?

am I the only one that has notice this in my generation? I mean seriously! it seems like now a days women are lost and scared to be themselves. do they have to mimic everything they see in these corny TV shows like jersey shore, keeping up with the kardashians etc? does their attires and make up art concepts always gotta resemble that of are & B diva, pop star divas etc?

Seriously!? why can't chicks in my generation be have their own identities? why do they try so hard to live the life of others? especially the life of superficial and artificial people that don't deserve to be followed?

this just devastating! women now a days even go as far as flushing down their own human moralities down the toilet; always trying to get some type of fame from how much they club, how much they drink and smoke, how much guys they got dying for them etc. I mean, come on! why can't they just be themselves for once and take care of their kids and be a good wife to their men etc? what exactly is going on in my generation that make our women act so stupid? are these the creatures we are supposed to fall in love with, start a family, etc? if this is the case then we really do need an apocalypse exactly next month from today

The concept of identity is recent. It emerged after feminism - which is really what you're complaining about, you're not as viscously upset that men watch motorsport and drink heavily at the saloon, you're a Right-Wing Frontierman and want to put women in their place - and it only occurs in Individualist cultures. By that I mean, collectivist cultures have little sense of identity - America and Britain, the only two countries with girls that may fit your description, have more identity than anywhere else, other than Europe and emergent, hip quarters of the rest of the world. These women have not lost their identity. They are finding it.

Secondly; they're not flushing their moralities down the toilet. Morality is an abstract concept, it's not inherent. The West's hedonism is ancient, and right now, is much less decadent than that of 100 years ago. I urge you to look into: Fin de Siecle, Paris (Brothels, André Caplet's acolytes). Weimer Republic era Berlin (Anita Berber and her acolytes, cabaret and go-go, more prostitutes in berlin than non-prostitutes), Harlem Renaissance/Jazz Age (Slappers, Opium Dens), Rock 'n' Roll hooliganism, the Acid Wave (methamphetamine was more popular than LSD); look at these periods in Western history and tell me our girls have some kind of moral decay, tell me the majority going to clubs and, literally, dancing, is more decadent than these examples of our history.

It's because of the way they've been indoctrinated by the media. They were made to believe that they were Disney princesses and goddamnit they're going to have that perfect wedding and a man who has a million contradictory aspects about himself that would make it impossible for anyone to actually be. Don't you see some of the questions they post on here? I can seriously answer half of them in one sentence. MOST of the time that sentence is "Everyone is different and likes different things in a partner".

because the media has told us not to be different. not to stand out, because that is not what is "feminine" and desired by men. we are bombarded with what the trendy clothes are, what makeup to use.. and if we don't adhere to commercialism, we will be left in the dust. no friends. no boyfriend. because no one likes a loser. being your own person means doing something outrageous and risky. if no one likes you, it hurts us. we feel abandoned. we just want to do the easy thing and follow the next big celebrity like all the other sheep.

but I have a question for you:

do you really think that when all women "be themselves" they are good mothers and wives? since all women are meant to have kids and marry and that is it? I understnad if you just meant the woment who already have kids and a husband, yet go out partying all the time ( I'm pretty sure most women who are married do't do that) cause that comment seemed a bit like you see women as just the "creatures" that are here for men. for them to love and have kids and that is it? sorry but even if that is not what you meant, I felt a bit offended. why didn't you ask "why are women such followers, why aren't there more woment politicians/firefighters/etc?" instead of "why are women such followers instead of being a good mother and wife for MY kids and ME?" lol I think you get my point ill stop nagging :P

As far as I can remember, women have always looked up to other women (especially famous or rich ones) for a sense of their own identity. You can arguably say Kim Kardashian is the modern day Marilyn Monroe.

It's funny to assume that they're all copying rather than identifying. In fact, a lot of these women were who they were BEFORE the so called trend setters ever hit the big time. I think a paradigm needs to be had in that it is probably more realistic to assume that these popular or famous women "represent" the lifestyle some of these girls seem to be emulating.

Now the issue is, some of them may not be the best examples...we're not all born of great parents or great home environments so yah, we don't all live by same moral compass. Seek to understand and ye shall be understood. There are plenty of women in your generation that don't act stupid and are very bright. In fact, there are more of them in college and snatching up high paying jobs than men now a days. Just shift your focus a bit and look for the positives. I think you'll be surprised.

I'm not one of those people. I hate those kinds of idiotic brainless barbies. But see I wouldn't call them women. They are girls. They have not matured. The difference these days is the generations are getting less less mature - where I'm from, I think the reason is because they aren't taking on responsibility early enough like moving out of home, working and paying their way through University, paying rent by themselves etc. And the social culture around most western societies is very fake. It's all about fake tan, fake boobs, fake ass, fake music everything is fake and it is seen to be sexy by most guys. WTF? Hopefully it is something that both sexes will eventually grow out of, but don't hold your breath. Try to find real women, they tend to be the smarter ones who have a broader mind and perspective on life and what they want out of it - strength and independece is f***ing sexy but very few guys seem to understand that hence we have an over population of bimbos.

being a wife, and having kids was not THEIR morality. not even of their own volition. men decided such things. . women can give birth. they don't have to be married to do that. that's just for men to control the production. created way after birth began.

I'm guessing someone pissed you off but it's cool, we all have those days.  I strongly believe that women behave like this nowadays because of the lack of father figures in the home. Every little girl needs a daddy there to tell her that she is beautiful and loved. Hearing it from mom is one thing but she needs to have that first feel of true love that is pure and unblemished from a man who is her father. That way when she grows up she is confident in her true self and nothing the world throws at her can phase her. Also the quality of the homes that these girls come from has a huge impact on their personalities. And the media only adds fuel to the fire by spoon feeding the youngsters these pumped up illusions of grandeur which in reality only bring serious damage to their lives. It is ridiculous.

Most people regardless of gender is followers without even knowing it.

Many people think that they are actually having unique, individual thoughts, but they don't.

Humanity is deeply conditioned through Culture, Society, Religion, Media, Nationalism, Education, Government, our upbringing and all kinds of illusionary Beliefs. Before we can offer any solutions we need to become aware of this conditioning and do the work necessary to truly understand ourselves, our mechanical reactive behaviors, emotional addictions, our biases to take in certain information but automatically reject information that conflicts with our (conditioned) belief system.

I don't think its anything new but I still find it hilarious. Girls are simply more vulnerable to societal pressures than guys are. As for trying to get some kind of fame, I do think that's generational. What can I say? Girls love attention, it is hard wired.

Plus in society you're penalized for being outside the norm and are at a disadvantage in a lot of cases. No one likes to be or feel like an outsider (unless they are me but I fully admit that I am a weirdo) It is human nature to want to be accepted and it affects girls more. Why? For one girls are more emotional so girls are always wondering what people think of them, girls are judged mostly by their appearance, and girls are also more social than guys, as well as a plethora of other reasons.
